We finally get back home from Cali. As we pulled in the yard we noticed something wasn't right. "We left at least 3 lights on babe." I grabbed two guns out of the glove compartment. I turned to Jo. "Don't use it, follow me, let's go. Babe stay in the car with Diamond, lock the doors. Give me ya key, ima leave the car running." Jas gave me the key. Me, AJ, and Jo went into the house.
Nothing. We searched the whole house, even the outside, nothing. "We getting an alarm system tomorrow." Jas looked at me and nodded in agree. "I wish y'all would tell the police and stop trying to handle it." I shook my head. "Zoe! Think about your family. What if he does something to one of y'all, what if he gets to me. Tell the damn police Zoe. Something happen to one of y'all cause y'all want to be superheroes you'll never forgive yourself. Why the hell would you give Jo a gun?" I look down. "I didn't have to, he had one but I took it from him with the help of AJ. I don't know where it came from, how he got it, what he had to do for it. Was trying to give him a chance to tell you." I've never seen a brown skin girl face turn red until now. "Why the hell would you keep that from me? I could've easily got it from him myself. Y'all ganged up on him to get it when you could've told me and I could've got it. The fuck wrong with y'all Zoe?" I rolled my eyes. "The boy is set to protect you. He had it to protect you. He knows about Tye, it was for your protection babe!" Jas sat on the bed and took a deep breath. "We telling the police Zoe, Fuck that snitching shit. All of us is in danger looking over our shoulders all day. I can barely sleep at night, I worry, I stress, I'm scared to be here alone. Tell the damn police Zoe, take me to the note and all. Tell em babe!!" I took a deep breath and thought about it. She's actually right, we all in danger. I need to give my baby a piece of mind and keep her safe. The police not always reliable but what's it gonna hurt to let em know what's going on. I have to keep my family safe. Any means necessary.
