Chapter 3: Dragon Problem

Astrid POV

A few weeks later we had a slight Rumblehorn problem. The Rumblehorn was a new dragon that had been terrorising us for the last few days.

It was Snotlout's turn to keep watch that night, just as I started dozing off I heard his girly shriek and I was off. I flew to where the trap was only to find that what we had caught wasn't the Rumblehorn but Gobber.

"Gobber" I sighed "what are you doing here?" I asked him cutting him down.

"I need to speak to Hiccup, oh, there he is" Hiccup had just landed next to me "it's your dad he's practically terrorising the village and we can't take it anymore" Gobber begged Hiccup to go and help.

Hiccup put me in charge while he was gone. We couldn't figure out where this Rumblehorn was or when it would attack next "I'll take the next watch" I offered not being able to sleep anyway.

A few hours passed and the alarm system went off, the alarm was one of Hiccup's best ideas, "guys!" i yelled as I flew away.

I landed near the new trap to see the gigantic beast lying down, its red and blue wings in the air trying to escape. Hiccup arrived not long after "hey calm down boy" he said calming it down almost instantly.

Hiccup cut the dragon loose and the first thing it did was grab me, throw me in the air, catch me on its back and fly up.

Hiccup followed trying to rescue me from the dragon who had pretty much just kidnapped me, that was when I saw it "Hiccup, we have a slight problem" I yelled over to him pointing to the horizon.

He looked and saw the giant wave heading straight for us, we both knew it would wipe out Dragons Edge without even trying.

I realised that Hiccup had brought his dad back with him "so, got your dad, he could help us" I said. We landed and told the others what was happening.

We started building a big wall where the wave would hit so we could reduce the damage it would do. We finished the wall in a few hours and the wave hit just as we finished.

Stoick looked at the Rumblehorn "that's quite a dragon there" he complimented.

"Take him with you dad"

"I think I will call him Skullcrusher" he said before flying back to Berk.

I was desperate for sleep "night guys I'm going to sleep"
