Chapter 12: Two Years

Hiccup POV

Two years passed and I had visited Dragons Edge during the Snoggletog holiday both years as well as once every two months for a week. I kept hoping that Astrid would find her way back to me, well, Dragons Edge.

"Hiccup, I doubt she'll ever come back, tha dragon must've eaten her by now" Merida wasn't exactly upset about it and I didn't want to believe that she was right but with every visit, with every disappointment, the likeliness of Astrid coming back grew smaller and smaller.

"Maybe you're right, maybe I'm wasting my time coming back, but, I can't believe that she's never coming back, she's been here through some of the toughest times of my life" I sighed, they didn't know that while I was out exploring and mapping out the world I was also searching for Astrid.

"It's not fair to you or to Stormfly, I know she's been there for you but now she's gone and Stormfly should be freed" that hurt, she just gave me a reality check and I started to think she was right.

"Fine, we'll just go back" I said as Toothless started flying up. Merida wasn't the only one to have told me that, I had also heard "it's been two years Hiccup, she's gone" and "she's not coming back after all this time" amongst other things.

On the way home I found something strange, giant spikes of ice that looked as though they had blasted through someone's fort. I went to check it out when nets came flying at me and I decided they obviously didn't need help and I flew home to free Stormfly.

Astrid POV

I had been stuck on this stupid island for two years with no way off, just me and Elsa, stuck here. I made a promise and I intended on keeping it, I had to find a way to get to Dragons Edge.

Elsa was behind me helping me try to figure out a way off the island "STORMFLY! SNOWY!" she yelled. I span around hoping she wasn't joking or hallucinating again, the island got hot and sometimes one of us would start hallucinating.

Surely enough Stormfly and Snowy were flying our way "come here girl" I yelled happily. She nuzzled me "Elsa, this is our way off this stupid island" we climbed onto our dragons backs and flew.

"I hope Hiccup hasn't given up on me yet" I said, it was a thought that didn't stay a thought but it was still true.

we were flying when I saw Hiccup and Toothless flying somewhere. Hiccup got pulled off and Toothless fell "TOOTHLESS!" I yelled as I directed Stormfly to dive after him. Toothless gave a roar which obviously was his way of telling Stormfly to get Hiccup because as soon as he did it Stormfly stopped and turned around.

She followed the dragon carrying Hiccup until we lost them at a giant ice cave "great, lost him" I mumbled.

I flew in circles for hours until eventually I found a fleet of ships and flew closer to see who was there. That was when nets came flying at us and we crash landed on one of the ships.
