He took her hand and guided her across the room, stopping. "I want you to start here and we'll walk in from opposite sides. Once we meet each other in the middle, I'll pretend to lean in and you'll turn away from me"

Great she thought. Starting the dance with an almost kiss. How was she supposed to contain herself?

"Then you're going to walk to the front of the stage with your hands touching your heart. After that, I'm going to run to you and grab your shoulders, turning you to face me. We're going to have a slight moment there where we'll look into each other's eyes. We'll go into a hug while turning in circles when the song is at the part where he sings 'the world froze in time'. Do you want to give that a go?" He continued

She gave him a faint smile and nodded. She took a deep breath before going into position. He gave her a sign to tell her to start. She went through it gracefully, but there was something missing. She wasn't letting go of her emotions. She knew he could tell, but he didn't say a word. Not the first round at least. They went through it numerous times for hour. She still wouldn't let go and he was getting frustrated

"I need you to be more sentimental and vulnerable with this routine" he said, aggressively throwing his arms

"Yeah" she agreed inaudibly

They went through it once more, but there wasn't any more refinement than before. She kept going but he held her arm and stopped her

"Stop. Just stop. I know you Meryl, this isn't you. You can do far better than this. You know how strong our chemistry is on the dance floor. I can't sense any of that in this dance right now." He tries hard to not yell at her

Of course he couldn't feel it, it ceased to exist. Being with him seemed like a perfect home a few years back, but now the masterpiece they painted together has now been painted back to white. She loved his smile, but she loved hers more. She loved his laugh, but she realized that she hasn't heard her own in a while. She loved him, but she's better off without him. To her, he's now just a stranger who happens to know all her secrets.

"You don't know me" she looked away from him, feeling the tears in her eyes build up

"Excuse me?"

"You don't know me" She repeated

"Meryl what on earth are you saying?"

"I'm telling you that you don't know me Maks. I'm not the same person as I was from the day I left you. I'm not the same person you spent three months with teaching. I'm not the same person you said 'I love you's to over and over again. You have no idea how much I've changed within the past 2 years. Not even the slightest bit. And in all honesty, I don't think you were ever concerned or even thought about me during the time. So before you make assumptions that you know me, think again." She cried

"Well pardon me, but who was the one who came up to me one day and said "I think we shouldn't keep going with our relationship"? Who was the one who decided that it's okay to cut off our relationship without even discussing with me about it? Who was the one who just left me without a warning? You wanna know the answers to those questions Meryl? It's you. Its all you. You left me here, alone." His voice started rising

"I was doing that for your own good Maks! Yours! You were going to simply waste your whole life, all for me. You think I would let you do that?" She turned and stared at him deep into his eyes

"You just told me to not make assumptions about me knowing you, but you started this whole thing by thinking that you knew me and that you could make every decision for me!" He yelled at the top of his lungs
