"I suppose you have my answer?" Cheryl asks, hearing the door open then shut. Instead of answering her, Meryl took a deep breath and exhaled.

"Then since I am your mother and you are my responsibility, I guess you're coming home with us then..."

"Mom, I want to stay... ever since I was young, you've taught me to never decline a valuable opportunity, and this may be my only opportunity to finally build a relationship. I can't wait any longer, I've wasted too many years just waiting and waiting... I... I love him... I love Maks, and I'm not taking any more risks to lose him again."

Maks widened his eyes. It seemed like an eternity since he had last heard the three words phrase. "I love him" her voice played in his mind continually. He was without doubt unprepared for the group of words to escape her mouth, hence he froze in position, hands still on Meryl's shoulder, but no longer shifting. He dug into mind and had memories of how it used to be his absolute favorite phrase. It reminded him of his sense of home with her, his permanent shelter regardless of where he was. All it took was for him to hear those words and he'd feel safe and protected from just about anything.

Shortly after Meryl finished talking, she noticed his hands had stopped moving. Instinctively she turned to face him, aware that something had gotten to him.

"Maks?" she whispered. Cheryl, who had then still hadn't yet took a single glance at her daughter only just realized of Maks' presence in the room

He blinked and shook his head. "Uh, sorry, yes?"

"Are you okay?" she asked worryingly

"Yeah... I just thinking... Do you realize how uh... You know what? Forget explaining, I'm so much better at doing."

He leans his his head down, one hand gripping onto her cheeks. As they interlocked their eyes, he almost didn't notice her blushing. He gazed deep into her eyes, as if he was able to find and explore the whole universe within her. According to scientists, if a man was to stare at a woman for more than eight seconds, there is a large probability that the man has for a matter of fact, fallen in love with her at first sight. The very first time Meryl came to his sight, Maks did not, for a second take his eyes off of her. He allowed himself to indulge the beauty that had just appeared into his vision. To this day, the feeling still lingers after several years. He senses her breath getting deeper through each passing second. Just as they were barely able to retain their distance, he reaches closer to her, gently letting his lips brush against her divine, rosy lips before she pulled him even closer. The air around them suddenly  became tight and intense, as if for the first time, the universe wanted them to stay as one
