When I got up this morning, I found a voicemail from you, Benjamin.

It was sent at 2:30am.

It started with a fuzzing sort of sound, a car quietly buzzing in the background.

'Hey Ellie, sorry I missed your call today, beautiful.'

A loud burst of 'OOOOH'S' sounded through the line, and you chuckled.

'Mum and Dad! Shhhh, I'm trying to leave Ellie a voicemail... anyway, I hope you had a good day and I'm sorry for calling so late. We're driving home now. Way earlier than expected, I know.'

You yawned. 'I'll try calling you tomorrow morning, okay? I love you.'

Your voice trailed off.

Then, a string of profanities and strangled screams followed as the sound of tires screeching and shattering glass erupted –

Before the voicemail clicked off.

Oh my God, Benjamin.
