Lucy Belle's Diary

February 18

Dear Diary,

Today, I woke up to find ashy footsteps leading straight out of my bedroom. I was scared. I got my pillow and hugged it tight while I walked downstairs. When I went to the kitchen, I saw Nurse Sarah Kate in a chair. I was so happy so I ran to her, but when I hugged her, she didn't hug me back. Instead, she fell out of the chair. She was bloody. I cried because she was all I really had. My parents didn't love me, my teachers thought I was insane, and Susan was always gone. I was so sad. Suddenly, Susan came and said that she found Nurse Sarah Kate. Then she said that I needed to come with her to the train tracks so I could be like her. I said I would at the end of the day. Susan nodded, then left. It's the end of the day now, and so I'm going to eat dinner then meet Susan at the train tracks. I'm so excited to be like Susan. I hope my eyes look like hers.
