Bella's POV
Elaine left a day ago,
She left a note saying that she would be back in a couple weeks. It also had her phone number on it and said to call her anytime I needed someone to talk to.
I sigh looking at my computer, all the emails I wrote to Alice that would never be read.
Even when she came to visit Elaine she wouldn't look me in the eyes.
Part of me was glad that Alice would never read these, they were kind of depressing.
I miss them all so much,
I am kind of surprised that Elaine hasn't left yet.
I mean she left but she promised to come back and gave me a number that I could call at anytime.
She was a good friend, more of a mother to me than my actual mother is.
I am pulled out of my thoughts by my phone ringing,
I pull it out of my hoodie pocket.
"Hello?"
"Hey Bells, just checking in, how's everything going over there honey?"
I hear Elaine's voice ask.
I smile,
"Good, I miss you, did you make it to Alaska yet?"
She laughs.
"I miss you too, and yes, I am talking to the Denali's right now. I will call to check up on you later, okay?"
She asks,
"Sounds good.I love you."
"I love you too."
She says.
This makes me happy. At least one of the Cullen's would always be there for me.
I hang up the phone and go back to aimlessly looking at the emails.
This was going to be a long, boring two weeks.

Elaine's POV
I lay down on the bed of the guest room at the Denali's.
I only mean to stay here for a couple days, then its off to England where Edward says the rest of the family is right now.
I get to see Carlisle.
I was also scared shitless.
Carlisle was going to be pissed when he learned that I have been alive for almost three weeks.
I shift on the bed.
After talking to the family today Irina is officially pissed at the wolves and Bella, she says it's her fault that Laurent is dead.
I tried explaining it was her own fault but she didn't want to hear it and walked away to go hunt.
Tanya and the rest of the clan were supportive and understanding.
I have to put myself in Irina's shoes. If Carlisle was like Laurent, I would try to make myself feel better by telling myself it wasn't his fault too.
I sigh and sit up.
I wish I could sleep. I miss that about my power. At least when I was passed out, I could get away from life, now I have no escape.
I stand up and walk through the house.
The family must be out hunting because no ones home.
I open the front door and walk out into the forest.
I need to clear my head and I'm not sure how.
I sit down on a tree stump and look around at the beautiful forest.
I sit there for around twenty minutes till I hear a twig snap.
I stand up quickly.
Standing there is a little girl.
She looks so familiar.
"Are you lost sweetheart?"
I ask, walking closer to her.
She smiles.
"I found you!"
She screams and runs up to me. She throws her arms around my waist.
I am shocked but I hug her back.
I look down at her.
"Do you remember me?"
She asks.
It takes me a second, then it hits me.
"Your the little girl from the woods, the one I healed."
We separate and she smiles.
I bend down to get a better look at her.
"Wow. You look so much older already. What's your name?"
I ask.
"My name is Violet,"

It takes me a second to compose myself after she says this.
I look to the ground.
Then look back up,
"That is a really pretty name."
I answer.
She smiles and nods in agreement with me.
"Thanks, my mom is a really pretty lady."

I look at her face. This is the first time I notice, but she is a beautiful girl.
"You are beautiful."
I smile at her.
She smiles back.
"What are you doing out here alone?"
I ask.
She then frowns.
"I escaped and I came here to tell you what she knows." she answers.
"What who knows?"
"Victoria."
Victoria??
How did this little angel know Victoria?
"How do you know Victoria?"
I ask.
"She was friends with my daddy."
She answers.
James.
Her daddy must have been James.
I swallow hard.
"What is it that Victoria didn't want me to know?"
"There's a lot."
She answers.
This makes me smile.
"Well we have a lot of time."
We sit down on a log and she starts telling me stuff.

Violet's POV
My name is Violet.
Violet Mason.
I don't even know how old I am.
I was born, well kinda born in Chicago in the early 1900's.
That's right, I'm a vampire.
When James died, I was distraught.
He was never the perfect father but he was all I had.
One day while I was looking through his stuff I found a journal,
Filled with nothing but pictures, letters, poems, and even a piece of hair, all belonging to and about a woman named Elaine Mason.
I took it to Victoria, but she didn't want to talk about it at all. I got it out of her, eventually.
She knew that my power was far too powerful to mess with.
She finally told me who the woman was.
James wasn't my real father.
He was a vampire who bite my mother in an alley. Then, when her transformation was nearly finished, he pulled me out of her, ripping her open.
When I was born I was sickly. I wasn't suppose to be born for another four months, but I made it.
Partly because during the transformation, some of my cells were changed with my moms. I turned out being this cool hybrid thing.
So basically I am half vampire and half human.
I'm suppose to be full grown now. I guess the growing process was a little delayed with me.
People tell me I look at least sixteen.
So anyways, I took the information and left when Vitoria was hunting one day.
So here I am.
With my mom.
But she doesn't know that yet.
