Sam and Dean stay silent at first but after a while Dean starts in.
"You don't look good Aunt Lane."
I roll my eyes.
He gives me a stern look in the rearview mirror.
"Look Dean, I promised your dad that I would look after you not the other way around."
I say.
Sam chuckles.
"Aunt Lane, don't take this the wrong way but you look like you can use a little more protecting than we do."
I laugh sarcastically.
"Hahaha, listen I need to talk to you guys about something since you guys don't bother to call me back,"
I say leaning forward so I'm in between the drivers and passengers seat.
Carlisle shifts us both so I am more comfortable on his rock hard lap.
"Hey we don't not call you back, we just have been busy with saving the world and stuff."
Dean boasts.
I roll my eyes yet another time.
"Yeah I know it must be draining. Now listen, I healed Bella a few months ago,"
I say motioning to Bella who is looking more pale than usual as she sits on Edwards lap.
She must be really freaking out after everything that's happened.
"Okay, and this is weird why?"
Sam asks,
"Well, I kinda, I don't know. I died. I guess. It was just temporary, obviously, but I didn't come back the same I was before."
I say picking my words carefully.
Sam looks at me, eyes widening a little.
"It sounds like your talking about the Prophecy of the Dark,"
He says.
I nod,
"Yeah, that's what I read about, okay so can you explain it to me, I don't understand what is necessarily happening,"

Carlisle POV
It turns out Sam and Dean are pretty awesome.
They are still hunters which makes me weary to have Elaine so close to them.
I wrap my arms around her bent waist.
She turns slightly and gives me a reassuring smile.
I just hope that whatever Sam has to say that it's good.
"Well from what I understand, since you were selfless enough to put your life in danger to help someone else knowing you were gonna die, you get a second chance at life."
Elaine nods and raises an eyebrow.
"Okay, what's so dark about that?"
She asks.
The car stops and I realize that we are back at the airport.
"Well, usually people don't survive the change back. It's suppose to be brutal. What I can tell from the way you look, it seems like they're right."
Elaine narrows her eyes,
It takes everything in me not to say something to defend my mate but I know it's not my place.
"What's my chance?"
She whispers,
My grip tightens on her.
"One in five, survive."
Dean says in a frustrated voice.
I can tell I would get along way more with him than with Sam.
Elaine turns to him.
"Dean, sweetheart look at me."
She whispers.
Dean doesn't move his head.
"Please Dean,"
She tries again.
Dean just shakes his head opens his door and jumps out.
Elaine sighs.
Sam goes to follow his brother but Lane stops him.
"Hey, let me talk to him alone for a second."
She says,
He nods.
Then Lane looks to me.
"I'll be right back okay?"
She whispers.
I look into her worried eyes and nod.
I let her go hesitantly.
She climbs over Alice's lap and jumps out of the car.
She walks to where Dean is standing.
"Shit,"
I hear Sam mumble.
"What?"
I ask concerned.
"Just wait. These two are horrible when they get together."
He answers.
I raise an eyebrow but nod and look back straight ahead and watch Elaine and Dean.

Elaine's POV
Dean stands there, staring out at the small park across the street from the airport.
I hadn't noticed it on my rush to save Edward.
"Dean,"
I whisper.
He doesn't say anything.
I sigh and just stare with him for a second.
Finally he speaks.
"I can't loose you."
He whispers.
I look over to him to see he has tears in his eyes.
My strong bad boy Dean, is crying?
"Dean, I-"
I start but he stops me.
"Don't tell me everything is going to be okay. First mom, then Dad. Your the only thing I have left of a parent. Well kinda. Your the only person who makes me feel as loved as mom did. I can't loose you Aunt Lane. Not you."
He whispers,
He looks away not wanting me to see him cry.
"Your not gonna loose me Dean."
I whisper.
"You can't promise that,"
He mumbles back.
I sigh,
"Well I can promise you this,"
I say, grabbing his chin and making him look me in the eyes.
"I will do everything in my power to protect and be there for your brother and you. No matter what,"
I whisper.
He smiles a little but I know it's not his real smile.
"Give your aunt a hug kiddo,"
I say,
This gets him to really smile.
He pulls me in and hugs me tightly.
"I love you Aunt Lane,"
He whispers in my ear.
"I love you too,"
We walk back to the car with Dean's arm still around me.
Sam and the others jump out of the car.
"You guys good now?"
Sam asks.
We both nod.
I let go of Dean and give Sam a hug.
"You guys don't do anything too stupid now."
I whisper into his ear.
He laughs,
"Well try. Call us when you get home. I love you Aunt Lane."
He answers.
I nod and let go.
Dean gives me one more quick hug and they both get in the car.
"Love you guys!"
I say through the window.
"Love you too!"
They both shout back at the same time.
Then they drive away and leave the rest of us standing in the parking lot in the dark.
The night has turned somewhat colder, and I shiver.
Carlisle sees this and pulls his jacket off automatically.
"Put this on."
He says sternly and hands it to me.
I can see Edward putting his jacket on a sleepy Bella much more lovingly.
It's because Bella is easier to love than you are.
A voice in my head says.
Bella listened to everything Edward says.
I just can't.
We all walk to the front of the airport.
Not many people are in at this time at night so we pretty much have the place to ourselves.
We all stay silent.
Waiting.
Carlisle keeps his arm tensely around me but doesn't say anything.
Finally our flight is called and we all walk to catch our flight.
