Elaine's POV
I continue to talk  talk to the Violet girl,
She's a nice girl, a little strange but aren't we all?
Then she starts to tell me about the stuff that Victoria doesn't want me to know.
When she's finished I'm in shock,
I didn't even know vampires can go into shock, but I did.
"Elaine?"
I hear her ask, she waves a hand in front of me.
I look at her, it's all making sense,
Well kinda,
She's got long brown hair, like I use to before I dyed mine, and she's got my facial features, well she's got some of my old husbands too, but now that I'm paying attention to her face, I know I would have known she was mine right when I first looked at her.
I just didn't think it was a possibility.
I know that if I could cry I would be right now,
"So what your saying is, your my daughter?"
I ask, hoping the answer was yes,
She nods, my heart feels like it might burst out of my chest with joy,
"Oh My God!"
I cry,
She laughs,
"I know, it's so nice to finally meet you, to know you are alive, all this time James said you were dead,"
She's got tears rolling down her cheeks,
I smile, knowing there tears of joy, I also smile because she's not a full vampire, she can still cry, she can have a normal life but still stay with me forever.
This was the happiest day of my existence.
"Can I-"
We both start at the same time,
"You go first,"
I say,
She smiles and looks down,
"Can I hug you?"
I laugh at this and nod,
"Of course you can, I'm your mom aren't I?"
I ask, she laughs and nods back.
Then she leans forward and hugs me tightly,
I smile and hug her back, rubbing her hair,
"I love you mom,"
She whispers,
"Oh, darling, you'll never know how much I love you."
I whisper back into her hair.

Violets POV
Elaine and I agreed that I would be calling her mom from now on, it was just silly to call her anything else.
We walked back to the Denali's at first they were a little hesitant but after some talking into they let me stay.
We are currently sitting in our room,
Well I'm sitting mom is packing while I ask her questions,
"So how old were you when you were turned?"
I ask, she looks through the closet and stuffs two shirts in a suitcase,
"I was twenty,"
I nod, then start to think of more stuff to ask her,
"Hey why are your eyes black? Victoria told me that you guys only drank animal blood?"
I ask, she stops and looks at me, then walks over and kneels in front of me,
"Well you see I have this power, it's the power I used on you in the woods that one night,"
She starts I nod,
"After I used it on you, I passed out,
And your sister, Alice, can see the future, well she told me if I used it again I would die,"
I sit up,
"Wait, you didn't use it again did you?"
I ask,
She frowns and looks down at the floor,
"I didn't really have much choice,"
She sighed,
"My brother, my real one, your uncle, he's in love with a mortal, and she was dying. I needed to put him first."
She says smiling sadly up at me.
My mom is so amazing!
She's the most selfless woman I have ever met.
"That's amazing mom. Your amazing,"
I whisper, smiling.
She smiles back at me, then stands up and gets back to packing.

Elaine's POV
I have a daughter now,
I mean I always have but she's alive, and here. It's amazing, but really bad timing.
Laurent said people who come back, aren't the same, their weaker, darker.
I can feel the darkness, and I can defiantly feel the weakness.
I don't feed as often anymore, I don't get thirsty like I use to.
I haven't hunted since Alice and Rose came over. That was almost three weeks ago.
I have dark purple circles under my eyes, and I can barely pick up this stupid suitcase off the bed.
"Mom are you okay?"
I hear Violet ask,
I smile and try to shake it off. I don't need her stressing.
"Yeah, fine. Okay, why don't you go to the washroom real quick, we're leaving for the airport in five minutes."
I say smiling.
She nods, and walks out. I stand there thinking for a second then walk out the door to the hall.
I walk to Irina's room. If Laurent knew about all this, I'm sure she will too.
I knock on the door.
"Come in,"
She says,
I open the door and see that she is reading Les Miserables, I smile,
"Good read,"
I say pointing at the book.
She smiles, I can tell that things are not the same since Laurent died, but we still are best friends and I need her now more than ever.
"Irina, I need your help."
I whisper,
She looks up at me again,
"What going on?"
"I think there's something wrong with me,"
She nods,
She stands up and walks to the book shelf.
"I should have showed you this when you first arrived,"
She says as she pulls a huge red book off the shelf.
She hands it to me.
"What is this?"
I ask,
She sighs,
"Laurent had it before he-" she starts then needs to take a moment to compose herself.
"He had this in his room. I took it, it's about you, I think,"
I raise an eyebrow, why would someone write a book about me?
"What about me?"
I ask,
"Elaine, I don't know how to say this, but your different than  other vampires. Instead of hurting, you heal, but it's at your own cost. You've always been so selfless, but it'll destroy you."
She whispers,
I raise an eyebrow,
"What do you mean by that?"
I ask,
"I-"
She starts,
"Mom?" I hear Violet yell from the hall.
"Coming!" I yell back.
"I must be going,"
I whisper to Irina,
She nods and looks down, I go to give her back the book.
"Take it, Laurent would have wanted you to have it. You need to stop it, before it destroys you. You are far to important to loose,"
She says with a serious face,
I frown,
"Important to who?"
I ask, rolling my eyes.
"To more people than you think, if your the person in the book, than you change everything,"
I give her a confused look, but take the book,
She stands up with me,
"Please take care my friend, and don't be a stranger,"
She says,
I smile setting the book down on the table, I hug her and she hugs me back tightly.
"You too, I love you Irina,"
I whisper into her hair,
"I love you too, please come back in one piece,"
I laugh and pull away.
I take the book and walk out of the room.
There is so much going on in my life,
I make a list of all the things I need to figure out,
How to be a real mother,
How to apologize to Carlisle,
Does the book in my hands explain what's going on with me?
And if so, why am I so important?
