More Than A Memory

Chapter 3

Cassandra sighed, she was sitting on a park bench watching Josh's little boys. She was not fond of children, and she wasn't really fond of his children because they belonged to another woman, who she knew Josh still pinned away for and was in love with. He would never admit to it.

Josh had to go into the studio for a few hours to put finishing touches on the new album, so she got left with the job of watching the boys. They drove her insane in the condo so she put them in the car and brought them to the park. She was beyond bored, and hot and sweaty. She looked down at her phone not really paying attention to what the brats were doing.

"Cassandra come quick." One screeched in her face. She looked up at child annoyed. "Liam fell off the monkey bars, he is crying."

She rolled her eyes and sighed getting up to follow the boy. When she got close enough to Liam, he was sitting on the ground sobbing and holding his arm. She crouched down beside him. "Let me see." She said taking the boys arm, he screeched out in pain. She flinched as she knew she hurt him when she touched him. "I am sorry." She said softly realizing the boy was really hurt. She looked his arm over, it was swollen and turning blue and twisted in a strange way.

"It really hurts." He sobbed. "I want my mommy."

Landon went and sat down by his brother, distraught as well because his brother was in so much pain.

"Well sweetie I am going to call your dad and get him to meet us at the hospital. I think you need a doctor to take at look at your arm." Cassandra said trying to reassure the child he was going to be okay. She was pretty sure he had broken his arm. "Lets get you guys to the car. Landon can you carry my purse?" Cassandra asked the little boy who nodded his head yes to help. She picked up Liam, who was still sobbing and carried him to the car.

Once she got them settled in the car she called Josh.

"Hullo." Josh answered.

"Josh Liam fell at the park and I think he has a broken arm. I am on the way to Vancouver General. Can you meet me there?"

"I will meet you there. I will call his mother, who is probably going to kill me." Josh said softly. "He is okay besides his arm?" he asked panicked.

"Seems to be."

"Okay I am on my way." Josh said as he hung up the phone, he knew he had to call Ben, Ella was going to kill him for leaving the boys with Cassandra.

Ben had just gotten off of the phone with Josh. He had to go wake up the beast from hell to tell her that Liam was at the hospital with a possible broken arm. He knew she was going to freak out. He opened the door to the room where Ella was sleeping.

"L you need to wake up." Ben said shaking her softly.

"Ugh.....go away." she snapped at him.

"Honey come on wake up. Josh just called and Liam got hurt at the park and they are on their way to the hospital."

Ella shot up in bed. "What happened? Is he okay?" she said jumping up and pulling clothes on, she grabbed sweats and a tshirt, pulled her hair up into a messy bun.

"He fell at the park." Ben said not giving any more details than he needed to at that moment.

"Well come on.....hurry your ass up." she snapped at Ben as she rushed past him out the door.

The drive to the hospital felt like it was going to take forever. Ella twirled her few lose strands of hair in her fingers.

"Did he tell you how it happened?" she asked Ben who was concentrating on driving as the traffic was terrible
