Chapter 13

Caspar's POV

~ Friday: Homecoming day~

I've been trying to talk to Joe all week but he won't answer when I call or reply to my texts. He won't even answer the door.

At school when I see him he runs away.

I wish I knew what I did to make him avoid me.

I really miss him.

After I got ready for school I walked outside not even bothering to get breakfast.

Joe walked out the same time I did.

" Joe!" I ran over to him.

" I need to get to school." He avoided my eyes.

" Well then I can drive you so that we can talk." I suggested.

" No, it's fine. I need to meet up with Justin." He walked toward his car.

" Why?" I asked walking over to him.

He put his backpack in his car," Because he's my boyfriend."

"....but I thought after what happened that you wouldn't get back together? He really hurt you...you deserve someone better."

He rolled his eyes," You don't know what I deserve. "

" But he's an asshole!"

" Don't call him that!"

" Why, I'm just saying what he is!"

" Just shut up!-" he yelled loudly causing me to go silent.

He sighed," Please just keep your opinions about my life to yourself. "

" You know what I said is true, Joe. Don't let him hurt you again."

He staring into my eyes as if he were searching for something before looking down again," I have to go."

I nodded and looked down sadly as I watched him get into his car.

" Are you going to homecoming with him?" I asked even though the answer was pretty obvious.

" Yes." He said before starting his car and leaving.

I stood there for a moment and sighed as I walked over to my car.

" Caspar? Caspar!"

I felt someone tap my shoulder," hm?" I snapped out of being in deep thought.

" You ok? You've been sitting there staring off into space for like 30 minutes." My best friend Josh asked. We're in English class.

All day I've just been lost in thought.

I can't stop thinking about Joe being with Justin again...and going to homecoming with him.

" Y-yeah I'm fine, just tired."

He nodded and went back to listening to the teacher while I went back to thinking.

When the dismissal bell rang I was the first one out of class.

I just want to go home.

" Caspar!"

I turned around and saw Cara running over to me.

" Hey." I said not so enthusiastically.

" Hey, I wanted to apologize for the way I acted over the weekend. That was very immature and rude of me."

I shrugged," You were right anyway."

" What do you mean?" She asked.

" Joe broke up with me and got back together with Justin. " I frowned as a rush of sadness hit me.

" Oh, wow. I-I'm so sorry. Are you ok?"

" Honestly, I've been better."

She nodded," So I guess they're going to homecoming together then."

I nodded," Yep."

" Do you have anyone to go with?"

I shock my head knowing what she was getting to.

" Do you want to go with me?"

I mentally rolled my eyes ," Uh yeah sure."

I don't want to go with her. I don't really want anything to do with her, but I don't have anyone else to go with and I already bought a suit so I might as well put it to use.

She smiled," Ok, then uh you can pick me up at 8."

" See ya then." I waved not even bothering to smile.

She smiled wide as she waved back while watching me walk away.
