Time Limit: December 15 2015 -

Word Count: 1000+ (keep in mind that this is a short story contest though)

Think: What holiday is it? Why is it different? How is it different?

For our extra-special-first-ever-winter-holiday contest we don't want your average christmas story, oh no, we want something different. What made this holiday different? Well that's for you to decide.

Maybe someone shows up for dinner who's been MIA for years. Maybe a supernatural being is under the Christmas tree. Maybe your favourite celebrity sent you a Christmas card. Maybe a tradition is changed, maybe a new one is introduced (better or worse). What happened at New Years that made it so crazy? It doesn't have to be Christmas, this is a Holiday contest, so send us your Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, new years, or whatever it is you celebrate, (a fictional holiday?), stories. We want to see it all.

This contest really has no limitations, except don't make it average. Maybe it's a true story of a Christmas gone wrong (or right) for you, maybe its the tale of a character on the other side of the world for new years. This holiday was different...

Create your story in "My Works" and tag it with "YWContestHoliday2015". Sorry for the long tag, but it's the easiest way for us to track it. If your story doesn't show up in our Holiday reading list, drop us a PM and we'll be sure to add it if we missed it.

As always, the top 3 will get a shout out in here and all entries will be featured in that month's reading list.
