Note: We've noticed a lot of polarized feedback regarding contests in the past few months, don't worry, we are listening, and we have planned the next few contests accordingly to try and see what people like. Next month, we will take our regularly scheduled contest break (like we have done every May) and post the new survey to see what people think in one format. Please bear with us in these changes.
Subject: SPRING BREAK!
Time Limit: April 1-30 2017
Word Count: 1000+
Think: What are your characters doing for Spring Break?
It's now officially April, Spring is upon us, and if you're a student this means SPRING BREAK! One always hears stories about what happens over the holiday and we want to read about it. What do your characters do on vacation? Is it something crazy? Boring? Exciting? What would your dream spring break be? It's pretty open ended, so long as your story takes over a school break in the springtime, it counts.
Also this month is Camp Nanowrimo (National Novel Writers Month), where people all over the world write full novels in a month, therefore this month we are allowing those who want to to submit a full novel instead of just a short story so long as it fits the theme. (Click the external link for more info).
Create your story in "My Works" and tag it with "YWContestApril2017". If it doesn't show up in our "Contest" reading list within a few days, just let us know and we'll add it.
As always, the top 3 will get a shout out in here and on the message board.
