They looked in a mirror
And didn't like what they saw.
Replaced their familiar face
With a mask and didn't look back.
They searched and search for
The fated match,
But once they found their pair
They didn't like what they saw.
The whole world laughed at their vanity and asked
Couldn't the fated see past the masks?
Of course one cannot see what isn't there.
For they threw away all they possessed and gained a face that could only please their own.
