Before rehearsal

I sigh at my thoughts of her. That sigh leads me back to reality as I realize I've been starring too long.

I think Jess realized I was starting, too because as I turn away from the perfect girl, she looks at me with a smirk.

"Keep starring at a star and your eyes will burn out," she says as if she's teasing me.

"That doesn't even make any sense!" I say.

"You look at a thing of beauty and you go blind."

"Even less sense!"

"What ever! You have a crush! You have a crush!" She started to chant like she was a kid at second grade recess.

"Shut up!" I say looking at Izzy to try and make sure she's not looking.

"No! You have a crush! You have a-"

"Yeah? Well, we have a rehearsal. Let's go!" And with that I picked up my violin and pulled Jess to her feet to go rehearse for our orchestra concert.

I had to walk past Izzy, though. I had to look at the ground to avoid starring again.

Gosh, she was gorgeous.
