Time passed by frame by frame. I could hear the fireworks, whispers from all around me, and nurses calling for help. But I couldn't hear you.
I reached for you, but there was nothing where you were just seconds ago. The wheels on my wheelchair were unlocked and I was pushed back into the warmth of the hospital.
"What happened? Where did he go?" I kept asking. Nobody answered me.
