Chapter Twelve

When Mr Cable turns away briefly, Hannah smirks at you.

"Of course Y/N I will have to write to your parents, but anyway. You two are dismissed. Hannah will be your help buddy as of tomorrow." Mr Cable says.

You stood up and left the room. Hannah followed you. "See you later Y/N!" She smiles sweetly then walks in the opposite direction. You see Jessica leaning against a nearby wall, 'reading' an upside-down book. She ran over to you when she notices you stood there. "How did it go? Did old Cable give you a hard time? Did he give you detention?" She questions.

"He let Hannah choose my punishment." You murmur.

"And?" Jessica says impatiently.

"She's my help buddy as of tomorrow." You reply.

"WHat?" She hisses. "That's worse than detentions."

"Jess?" You need to ask her something. Since the teacher had explained to you what a help buddy is, it has flown round and round your mind.

"What?" She turns to look at you.

"What has she done to other people before?" You ask quietly.

Jessica sighs. "How did you guess she's done it before?"

"Because she's professional at torture." You reply. "Also Newt told me she 'always bullies the new kids'."

"Oh... Well..."

"Jess. Tell me."

She sighed. "Loads. She uses loads of hurtful words and language, beats you up if you do anything 'wrong', and then convinces teachers it was the other way around. She made a girl leave the school once she was so horrible."

You gulp. "Nothing to worry about then."

"But goodness knows what she'll do to you now that Newt likes you."

"You're not really helping, you know!" You tell her.

Jessica shrugs. "Sorry. Let's go to next lesson, or we'll be late."

"What have we got next?" You ask her, picking up your bag which you had left outside Mr Cables office.

"French."

"How fun."

"Don't worry, Madame Rosaline will make sure she bores us all to death."

"At the moment I think I would pick her over Hannah anyday." You tell her smiling slightly.
