-Time skip to Saturday-
There is a loud knock on the front door. You slowly roll out of bed, groaning. Your alarm clock reads '6:30'. You put your slippers and dressing gown on and slowly plod down the stairs yawning.
There is another impatient knock just as you open the front door.
"Time to get ready!" Jessica gives you a big grin and skips inside. She glances about curiously. "Nice," She says as her eyes scan the room. "Let's go to your room."
You don't bother protesting and lead Jessica back up the stairs to your bedroom and close the door behind you. "Why did you have to come at 6.30! We have five and a half hours!" You protest with a yawn.
"Not enough! Quick, have a good shower whilst I choose an outfit." She insists and turns to your wardrobe.
You sigh but turn to your en-suite door and shower yourself. When you come out, you see she has laid a few dresses on the bed and is grinning at you.
"I am not wearing a dress!" You insist, glancing at the pink flowery dress, the slick creamy one and the white bridesmaid dress on the bed. "Especially not the pink one or the bridesmaid dress! I'm going on a date Jess, I'm not getting married!"
Jessica rolls her eyes but is grinning. "I know, I was teasing." She brushed them off of the bed and placed a smart, pretty light blue dress on the bed with delicate flowers decorating the bottom.
"Oh my..." You gasp and hold it up to yourself, it looks perfect!
Jessica grins at you "told you you need my help." She nodded. "Now go change into it!"
You obediently carry the dress into the toilet and hurriedly change into it, gazing at yourself in the mirror. It looks...
"Wonderful!" Jessica interrupts your thoughts bursting into the room.
"Hey! What if I wasn't done changing?" You snap but your eyes are shining.
"Well you are, now got any jewellery?" Jessica replies - she's really into this.
"No, only a few things." You lead her back into your room and show her the small cupboard of your jewellery.
She chooses your silver locket and your charm bracelet. She gently puts them on you.
"Now we need to do something about your hair." Jessica decides looking at your messy, wet hair thoughtfully. You roll your eyes. "Can't I just brush it?!"
"No!" Jessica insists with a grin and starts rummaging through your desk. "Have you got a straightener?"
"No but mum has... I'll go get it." You add seeing her face and tiptoe into your mums room.
Unfortunately she's a light sleeper and sits up yawning "what time is it?" She asks you.
"About seven." You reply
Then she realises what your wearing "oh my Y/N that looks lovely! Is it a party or a date?"
"A date." You confirm with a blush. "Can we borrow your straightener?"
"We?" She asks with a frown.
Jessica pokes her head around the door "Hi Y/Ns mum!"
"Mum this is my best friend, Jessica. Jess, this is my mum." You introduce them.
"Nice to meet you." They both say.
"Can we borrow your straightener?" You repeat.
She nods with a smile and points to her desk where it is lying. "What's his name?" She asked.
"Newt." You say quietly.
"I thought you said he was dating that Hannah girl?"
"No, they broke up."
"And he's already moved on?"
"Yeah, she cheated on him." You reply and unplug the straightener "thanks mum!" Then you walk out of the room before she can ask any more questions.
