Getting to know you and Experimenting

Chapter 4

As everyone left the room to gather separately amongst themselves, Garrett and I stayed side by side talking about our lives in the many battles that each of us have fought learning more about each other.

" Name any of Americas battles, I was present for most of then." Garrett smiled explaining.

" The battle of Little Bighorn?" I ask?

" I was this close to biting Custer, but the Indians got to him first." He laughs

" I wouldn't be so sure about that one, the slit to the jugular wasn't the work of an Indian." I laughed seeing the shocked look on his face.

" But the Indian had black hair you are clearly a blonde."

" I was called to assassinate him by the generals of the Confederate Army, he was becoming a nuisance." I smiled.

" Well that was some fine work little flower." he says

" Little Flower? I would hardly call myself delicate. " I say laughing.

" I'm simply referring to the fact that you are as beautiful as one Miss Violet." He smirked

" Oh you're a flirt then I can see."

" Only with a creature as beautiful as you are sweetheart." He winked

I giggled, I could see that i was becoming more and more comfortable discussing my history into depth with him, more so than anyone other than my brother Jasper. We discussed some of our likes and dislikes, I have never been more fascinated in my 167 years then with this mans stories about what it was like to fight in the revolutionary war.

" So you were present for the Revolutionary War? That must have been a hell of a battle, fighting for freedom against the tyranny of the British and obtaining freedom for this great nation. I wish I could have been present." I smile

" I am sure you could have accomplished what you did for the Confederacy for the Patriots. But I must say for you to go off to war in your brothers stead was a very courageous gesture, I'm honestly surprised you remember so many memories from your previous life." He replied

" Well i think that's also something that had to do with my gift, you see when I was human I had a very good memory and could easily make friends with people that we wouldn't normally get along with. I had many friends in the Native American tribes and I guess it just sort of enhanced into this next life." I commented

I swear if vampires could blush I would be bright red at the moment.

" I see young one thats very interesting little solider, I would have liked to be able to remember more of my memories from my human days. I cannot recall many of them, its incredibly frustrating." He laughed

I smirked at his comment, "Oh now i'm a little soldier you just keep coming up with nicknames for me don't you."

He grinned slyly and placed a finger underneath my chin tilting my head upwards towards him.

" Why I do believe it makes getting to know a person all the more exciting."

I giggled at that, I swear his eyes were the most beautiful shade of red I have seen, to think I found the eye color revolting when up against the Volturi but with him it seemed to suit him. I could almost imagine what it would be like if he had golden eyes. Unfortunately I was interrupted as I was about to make my comment towards his answer to my question.

" Violet?"

I turned towards my left to find Edward and Bella looking at me with somewhat weary glances. What were they so nervous about?
