*After school...*
I hurriedly started dressing for my date with Lucas at the new restaurant "Eli". (*cough* Love Live *cough*)
Since it wasn't a very formal date and all, I decided to just wear casual clothes. I went with a sleevless shirt that said "I'm somebody's DUFF" and black ripped skinny jeans.
After telling Riley where I was going, I picked up our pet dog, Sam-------that we managed to persude the Principal to let us keep-------and gave it a kiss. "Bye!" Riley shouted as I closed our dorm room door.
Suddenly, I felt my phone buzz in my pocket. Lucas had sent me a text.
Lucas:Hey, I've already reached. You?
I was surprised and leaned against the wall.
Me:Not yet. I just stepped out of the dorm room. Give me about...15 minutes?
Lucas:Sure, I'll wait for you across the street.
Me: 😙
Lucas:😍
I chuckled and kept my phone back in my pocket.
*Opposite Eli...*
While I waited for the green man to come out, I waved at Lucas. He waved back at me from across the street.
Finally, the green man came out. As I crossed the street, I heard the sound of an engine getting louder and louder. I looked sideways and saw a motorcycle headed straight for me!
I was frozen stiff with fear. The usual daring and adventurous me was gone in that moment. I heard Lucas screaming my name and asking me to move, but I couldn't.
The motorcycle hit me and in that split second, it was like the whole world was...gone. The last thing I heard before I went unconscious was Lucas screaming, "MAYA!!!"
Everything went pitch black.
