•I don't want you going anywhere near that bull. ... I want you to take off that stupid outfit and I want to get out of here. ... I saw the bull and I don't think the bull realises this is supposed to be fun.

*A few days later*
I was about to leave for my stupid classes when my phone rang. I took it out from my jeans pocket and answered.

"Hello, Maya."

I recognised the voice immediately. "Charlie Gardner. Why are you calling me?" I sat down on my bed.

"Well, I know you're in a relationship with Lucas now."

  "Yeah, so?"

"Because you're Riley's bestfriend, I felt that I should show you something that concerns Lucas."

"What are you talking about?" I was puzzled.

"I will send you a link, just click on it. It was nice talking to you again Maya." Charlie hung up.

Almost immediately, I received a text message from Charlie that had a link in it. I clicked on it just to see what he was talking about. What I saw was not what I expected.

The link opened up to show me pictures of Lucas hugging and flirting with another girl. I felt betrayed and all I wanted to do at the moment was to be back at the bay window with Riley.

Just then, the door clicked open. I looked up to see Riley. "Why are you still here, Maya? I've been waiting for you at the lockers for 15 minutes!"

She saw me holding my phone and snatched it from me. Her eyes widened in shock as she scrolled through the pictures. She kept my phone in her pocket and sat down beside me.

Riley put her arms around me and comforted me. I took a deep breath to stop the tears from flowing out. I was usually tough and strong but somehow, when it came to Lucas, I was just another fragile girl. "Come on, let's go confront this jerk. I told him I would kill him if he ever hurt you. Seem's like the time has come." Riley said angrily.

We headed out of our dorm room to the lockers, where Lucas the jerk was.

"LUCAS FRIAR! GET OUT HERE NOW!" Riley shouted as soon as we reached the lockers.

Lucas moved towards us as the other students looked at us with confused faces. He asked, "What's going on guys?"

Riley was fuming. "What's wrong?! Oh, I'll tell you what's wrong you freak face!" she took out my phone and shoved it into Lucas' hand.

Lucas had the same reaction as Riley when he scrolled through the pictures. He handed my phone back to her and said, "Maya, it's not what it looks like-"

"Oh really? Because I'm pretty sure it is. I told you before that if you ever hurt my best friend, I would kill you. So apparently, you want to die right now, don't you, JERK?!"

I calmed Riley down while avoiding looking at Lucas. "Maya, please, let me explain!"

I sighed, forced myself to look at him, and said right to his face, "No. I'm pretty sure the pictures have explained enough. I can't be with you now, so give me some time to think about...us."

"Maya...are you... breaking up with me?"

"I just think we should take a short break, then I'll make my decision. See you, Huckleberry."

Riley and I walked into the classroom, ignoring Lucas calling me from behind. Riley hugged me, instantly making me feel better. "Thanks Riles, you're the greatest best friend anybody could ever have."

  "Anything for you, Peaches."

Riley held up her hand that she wore our ring on. "Thunder?"

I put my hand that I wore our ring on in her hand. "Lightning."
