Chapter 23

•Your name is Farkle Minkus? ... I don't know how you could.

♡♡Lucas' P.O.V♡♡
  I looked at Maya and Riley's figure go further and further away from me. Maya's words repeated in my head, and I slumped against the lockers. "It really isn't what it looks like..." I mumbled to myself.

  I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked up and saw Farkle's concerned face. "Hey, I saw what happened just now. You okay?"

  I shook my head, causing Farkle to sigh. He asked me why I would hug and flirt with another girl. I explained to him what the pictures were really about. Farkle listened to my explanation, and told me that he would try to persuade Maya to give me a chance.

  I hugged him, and thanked him profusely. Farkle pushed me away and said, "Don't ever hug me again you freak face. I'm just doing this so that Maya won't give up all hope."

  I chuckled as Farkle walked to the classroom where Maya and Riley were. I prayed that my short stack of pancakes would give me a chance. I took a deep breath before proceeding to the classroom.

♡♡Maya's P.O.V♡♡
  "Maya!"

  I turned around to see Farkle. I asked him why he called for me. Farkle told me, "Maya, you need to give Lucas a chance to explain."

  "Why should I?"

  Farkle was about to say something when Riley interrupted, "Yeah, I think we were too rash just now. We should have gave Lucas a chance to explain. I was just thinking about him hurting you, but I never thought in his perspective."

  I considered what Riley said. "Lucas needs you, Maya." Farkle said.

  "Please Peaches?" Riley looked at me with her puppy dog eyes, something I could never say "no" to.

  I sighed and agreed. Riley jumped into Farkle's arms with joy, causing him to almost fall down. I laughed at the sight of Farkle trying to balance himself, while Riley hugged him, a gigantic smile on her face.

  But, just then, Lucas walked in. My eyes made contact with his beautiful blue eyes, and I thought I was accidentally falling in love again. (A/N: On Purpose by Sabrina Carpenter reference). I looked away, at the same time as the class started.

*Time skip to after school...*
  I headed to Topanga's, where I saw Lucas with that girl in the pictures. I was about to leave, when Lucas called me.

  I reluctantly walked over to the table they were at and sat down. Lucas smiled and started explaining, to my surprise.

  "Maya, this is my cousin, Emily, from Texas. She is visiting me for a few days. I was welcoming her at the railway station, where the pictures were taken by I don't know who. I hadn't seen her for a long time, which is why I was hugging her because I missed her. And, we weren't flirting, we were just talking."

  I looked at the girl, Emily, and she nodded. "Well...I guess I'll leave now. See you soon, Lucas. I'll tell aunt and uncle that you said hi!"

  With Emily gone, I was left alone with Lucas. Again. Lucas asked me if I could forgive him now. "Yes, I can forgive you." I grinned.

  Lucas kissed me, then he hugged me tightly. "I love you, clutterbucket."

  "I love you too, huckleberry."

  With Lucas being my boyfriend, I felt over the moon. I guess I was going to have to get back at Charlie for trying to separate Lucas and I. Besides that, it was a good day. I walked back to my house, hand in hand with Lucas.

  At my doorstep, he gave me a peck on the nose. "See you tomorrow, Friar."

  "You too, Hart."
