Alyssa's P.O.V
" Alyssa come on you need to get a job." My best friend Liza says sitting on the edge of my bed
" I know I just don't feel like it." I say
It had been two weeks since I had been laid off at my last job at Barnes and Noble.
" Come on I found a job for you. " Liza says
" What kind of job?" I ask
" it's a job for a personal assistant." Liza says
"Who's hiring?" I ask
"They wouldn't tell me. But please say you'll accept it." Liza says
A job for a personal assistant but they won't say who. I found that really strange. You'd think they'd want you to know who is employing you.
"I don't know Liza. It seems really suspicious." I say consciously
"Please I hate leaving you here all day. You need to get out." Liza says
"Fine I'll accept it." I say already getting annoyed
"Good because I've set up a video interview for you in two hours." Liza says with a smile
" Two hours!" I yell
I jump out of bed and dash out of my room. I quickly get into the shower. Soon enough I am done. I just put on a t shirt , black leggings , and black boots and I leave my long golden hair down.
When I felt I looked at least professional I raced downstairs into the living room where I had left my laptop the previous night. Once it was opened and turned on there was already a Skype call coming through.
Still unsure I clicked on it. Opposite of me was a man in a black suit. I felt underdressed and pathetic.
" Are you Alyssa Warren?" He asks
" Yes. That is me." I say
" Why do you think you should be given this job?" He asks
" Well I work very hard and I'm not afraid of a challenge." I say
" That's good because the man who put up the advertisement can be a challenge at times. " he says
" Oh." I say
"Have you ever been a personal assistant before?" He asks
"No but I'm a fast learner." I say
" I see. It says here your last job was at a Barnes and Noble is that correct ?"He asks
"Yes that is correct." I say
"Why did you leave?" He asks
"I didn't leave I was laid off." I say
" Well you're the best candidate I've met all day. You're hired." He says
" Thank you so much a..." I begin
" Oscar." Oscar says
" Thank you Oscar." I say
Then the Skype ends. I got the job. I actually got the job!
" So you got the job." Liza asks
" Of course you would be listening." I say
" What? I like to make sure you are doing ok." Liza says
