Chapter thirteen: Catching up

Cole's POV

..........I don't even........

What the heck just happened? I'm so lost right now.

Do I have a brother?

Why did Kai and Jay put me in this cell?

What did I do to make Lloyd hate me?

My list can go on forever.

Anyway, let's back up a bit. You're probably wondering what happened to me after I left to find the others.

I'll explain everything.

(Back at Ninjago City, chapter three)

I ran away as far as possible from the city without getting caught.

I was able to get a drink of water by a clear lake. I noticed that I saw Zane's titanium statue destroyed. I went to explore the deserted area.

The next thing I know, I get attacked by hounds. I didn't know where they came from, but I had to fight them off.

One bit my arm, another somehow managed to sink its fangs into my shoulder, and the last bit my foot.

Yeah, I know. It's a mess.

I managed to trap them with tall rocks from my powers.

I could also patch my wounds from a first aid kit I found in an abandoned pet shop.

I quickly left the area. The warriors were on to me. I wanted to use my dragon, but I needed more energy. Plus, I would have made things worse.

The dark came quickly. I hid in a cave to sleep for the night. I saw some weird-looking creatures run by, but none came to me.

I felt terrible when I woke up. My arm was swollen, my blood sugar was low, and I could barely stand. Luckily there were nonpoisonous berries that I ate. I noticed I saw smoke. I figured that it was a fight or something. When I arrived, I ducked behind a small bush to see what had happened.

Warriors were helping each other out for a fight. I overheard their conversation.

One said they got attacked by the ninja. That's when I knew my friends were safe. Another guy said I also attacked them, even though I didn't.

Without paying attention, two people were right behind me. I only knew who they were at the last moment. I felt a tap on the shoulder then the next thing I knew, and everything went black.

I wake up shirtless, and I'm in venge stone chains. Jay and Kai were glaring at me. Then this weird purple guy came in. I gasped when it was Lloyd.

Lloyd-- or should I say evil Lloyd said I was the "wrong Cole." He knew I was clueless, so he kept saying weird things.

I think we should skip ahead...

I got whipped, smacked, scratched, socked, slapped, stepped on, bitten, and burned after I came here. I thought I had no hope...until evil Lloyd sent a message to my friends.

I kept my eyes shut since I was so weak. The warriors were making fun of me...who cares.

After, I heard a lot of noises, but I didn't bother to lift my head. My hearing was faint anyway.

I thought I was dying.

Suddenly I felt like the chains just let go of me, and someone caught me. I was dreaming. I had to be dreaming.

I heard a faint female voice. I didn't listen to what she said. After all, it's just a dream.

A moment later, I felt a hand stroking my head. It felt nice, but it wasn't genuine.
