Sometimes Love, is Only Sleeping

I walked through the garden, my eyes looking in every shadow and crevasse that came before me. I wanted to find Mike, asking him about why he was suddenly so angry wasn't maybe the best idea. He made it pretty clear anyways, he didn't like Collin but it still doesn't explain why he ran off like a jealous boyfriend.

After searching for awhile, I finally saw a tall figure walking down the pathway looking rather mopey, scuffing their feet as they walked. It had to be Mike, I mean everyone was taller then me, being short runs in my family as if you couldn't tell — but Mike was much taller.

"Michael?" I asked as sweetly as I could trying to catch up with him

"Go away," He spoke in a low voice

"Awe Michael please, don't be angry with me. I don't know a lot of people around here, and he seemed real nice," I argued

"Well I know he's not."

"How?"

"I already told you," I caught a glimpse of his face, defined and brightened gently by the simmering moon light. His eyes were set on his feet, and his bottom lip pouted slightly out

I sighed in frustration to myself, but continued walking next to him in a comfortable silence. I fiddled with my hands, waiting to see if he would say anything; but after a long silence I decided to speak once again.

"It's sweet of you."

"What is?"

"That you're looking out for me, and if it really means that much to you I'll tell Collin I'm not interested in anything serious," I smiled

Michael thought for a second, before stopping and turning towards me. I looked up at him with the same smile spread across my face. His eyes met mine and he sighed to himself.

"I don't want to do that to you," He spoke finally

"You seemed pretty hell bent on making sure I wouldn't see him," I chuckled

"But it's your decision," His eyes finally looked away from mine, straightening his posture.

"And I told you my decision, I'm going to tell him I just want to be friends and nothing more."

He looked at me once again, his hands slipped out of his pockets and crossed over his chest, he was once again thinking.

"Promise?" He asked suddenly

"I promise," I chuckled

"Fine."

"Everything better now?"

"You say that like I'm some kid," He rolled his eyes and I laughed gingerly once again

"Well you're not, I know you're not. You're very much a man."

"And?"

"A very cute man," I turned away from him smiling to myself, and noticed Michael was a bit taken back.

"What?" He asked

"What?" I repeated

"What did you call me?"

"Cute," I answered a bit bluntly

He didn't say anything, but he grabbed my arm and spun me around to face him, our noses mere inches apart as he leaned down. He opened his mouth as if he was going to say something, make some kind of remark about how stupid I sounded right now. But I didn't bother to let him say anything, I decided quickly I would catch him off guard again,

This time — with a kiss.
