Love never dies

Chapter 6

Naruto walked towards the front door, saying she doesn't want to rest and she wants to walk around. "I'll walk with you." Itachi offered, standing up and walked toward her. "Just in case you get lost." He added and his face twitched whilst facing Naruto so only she caught the twitch. The both of them knew she wouldn't get lost despite not knowing her surroundings. She never gets lost. The fox would always be helping her but now she is partly the fox, it would be unnecessary to assume she would get lost. "Alright then. Come on Itachi." Naruto said, turning sharply and out the door.
"Should we follow them, un?" Deidara asked, they all wanted to know what the two was up to. Itachi has been acting different around her, he was showing emotions and sitting undoubtably close to her, he even whispered something that made her rival the shade of her hair. "Should we? I don't wanna get killed by him."
"Or her." Konan added, looking out the window. They shot her a confused look and looked out the window to see what she was staring at. Itachi and Naruto were pressing close together, the swords between them trembling with effort as they tried to push each other into submission. They jumped away and the sword clashed, their movements blurring and meeting up somewhere then moving away from each other. Itachi stopped in the clearing, looking around before jumping away the last second as something shot out from the ground. Naruto jumped out and fired a wind jutsu towards Itachi. He burst into a flock of crows when the jutsu hit him square in the chest. The rest watching gasped when a sword was drove through her chest. Naruto exploded, sending Itachi flying back from the shockwave. An exploding clone. That's smart.
Itachi was caught by Naruto who appeared behind him. "You okay?" Naruto asked fussing over him.
"I'm alright." Itachi grunted as he rubbed his chest. Naruto snorted in amusement at him trying to act tough. "I bruised that rib area." Naruto pointed out as her fingers glowed green with medical chakra, during her trip with Jiraiya to look for Tsunade, she had bugged the sannin medic and the apprentice to teach her medical ninjutsu, plus Kurama also started teaching her and she read books about it. "Hn."
"You didn't have to lie about not being hurt."
"I'm sorry. It was a habit." Itachi said as he let Naruto heal him. The two looked over towards the hideout and the others watching quickly ducked out of view. Naruto and Itachi looked at each other as they replaced themselves with clones before appearing in the hideout, standing behind them. They watched as their comrades slowly peeked up only to be surprised when the clones poofed out of existence. "Those were clones?!"
"I'm not surprised." A monotonous voice droned out from behind them. Tobi jumped and started screaming before Naruto shut him up by clutching the front of his shirt and pulling him down to her level to whispered something to him. His demeanour seem to change as she released him. "What did you do?" Kakuzu asked, shocked by the quick change with a whisper.
"Something." Naruto said, being specifically vague. Itachi's lips lifted slightly into a small smirk as he knows exactly how she did it. Naruto always knew how to keep people in control and knew all the right buttons to push.
"That was totally awesome! We should train together sometimes, un!" Deidara said excited about the prospect of a new training partner. Naruto smiled at him and reassured him they could train together some other time. "Let's go into town, I need clothes." Naruto said to Itachi, tugging him along.
"Why would she bring a guy to go shopping with her? Shouldn't Konan be a better choice?" Nagato asked, looking at their two retreating friends. Konan sighed dreamily. "I knew it."
"What un?!"
"They're either in love with each other but is not willing to admit or dating or like they call it 'we are just best friend but not really'." Konan said, nodding to herself.
"Only one way to find out!" Tobi exclaimed.
"You're doing it un! I'm not gonna risk getting castrated or killed by them un!" Deidara said and the others agreeing, making Tobi collapse on the ground anime crying.

Itachi and Naruto both henged into civilians - mid 20s, they held hands posing as a couple but neither mind the contact. It was actually comforting. "I missed you." Naruto whispered.
"I missed you too. I missed you so much you have no idea how much it hurts." Itachi said.
"I believe we both felt the same." Itachi nodded his agreement on the statement. They both walked in comfortable silence and brought a few shinobi gears and useful clothing before walking back to the hideout. "Remember I asked you to be my girlfriend in one of the letters I sent?"
"And I replied with one word: wait." Naruto continued.
"Do I still have to wait?" Itachi asked, looking at her as they stopped, hiding behind a foliage of trees and away from prying eyes. Naruto smiled and kissed him on the lips gently.
"Does that answer your question?"
"Absolutely."

"What's wrong?" Konan asked when she noticed Naruto's conflicted look as she was looking around, looking extremely confused and lost. They were all sitting around the living room as Naruto went through her plans for the village her clones were building with them all. Everyone stopped whatever they were doing and looked over.
"Do you guys not hear it?" Naruto asked.
"Hear what?" That response seem to make Naruto even more conflicted and she looked she was gonna freak out.
"I must be going crazy." Naruto said, staring at nothing. Before she decided to stand up and everyone else decided to follow her as she yanked the door open to walk out of the compound. She paused and looked around before she turned sharply to the right and kept walking. They all stopped in a clearing and an injured leopard with another one standing over it, nudging it, and they stared back at them. "Do you guys still not hear it?"
"No..."
"What's going on Naruto? What did you hear?" Itachi asked quietly.
"I heard someone talking and... I followed it here. There's only this two here but I still hear someone talking, it's louder here- oh my kami." Naruto said with a gasp as the uninjured leopard padded to her and stared at her.
"I can hear you... You guys were the ones talking!" Naruto said with a realisation as she rushed to the injured one and started healing it.  
"So you can hear animals talking..." Pein said trailing off.
"Probably a perk of merging with the kyuubi."
