Meredith P.O.V
I walked down the sidewalk looking at my surroundings. I took a deep breath in and turned down the alley where the fight was supposed to be.
"There you are!" I heard Ty exclaim beckoning me over to him and some other person with him.
"Meredith, this is Zayn; Zayn this is Meredith, My champion fighter," he said smugly as I shook Zayn's hand. Zayn was a tall, muscular guy. He had black hair that was quiffed up and hard brown eyes. His cheekbones were prominent and stuck out the most when you looked at him.
"Pleasure to meet you," Zayn said. His voice wasn't too low but to most it would've been terrifying to stand in front of him but me? I wasn't scared of anyone but myself. I nodded at him.
"Alright c'mon Meredith we have a fight to win!" Ty cheered as he led me to a door to change out of my sweats and jacket. I took them off and grabbed my gloves to protect my knuckles a little.
They weren't those huge gloves you get in karate or anything they were like those baseball bat gloves you wear with the fingers cut off. I pulled my hair back in a tight ponytail and put on my shoes. I took a deep breath and headed out.
I walked through the door and saw people sitting around and talking. I turned my head and caught glimpse of a familiar pair of eyes. I felt a small smile form on my lips as I made my way towards her.
"Meredith!" she yelled giving me a hug. I chuckled and patted her back awkwardly.
"Hey El," I said pulling away.
"You ready?" she questioned me as I started doing a few practice punches.
"As ready as I'll ever be," I replied walking behind her to face my opponent.
"Be careful tonight Meredith. I heard you got big competition," Eleanor said shooting me a worried look.
"I know I know," I grumbled my eyes finding Ty and I made my way to him with El following. Just as I reached Ty he turned my way and motioned for me to come closer.
"The fight is about to start stay here and don't move," he said his voice demanding. I gave a slight nod indicating I understood. I saw El standing there typing on her phone. I thought back to when I first met her and laughed.
*Flashback*
I was in the gym with Ty, he was sparring with me. I may be good but I don't stand a chance with Ty I've come close to beating him a few times, but always ended up loosing. I sent a left hook towards Ty, which he blocked easily. He threw a punch hitting me in the stomach making me drop to the ground trying to catch my breath.
"Alright you have a 10 minute break Camden," Ty said exiting and going somewhere. I sat down and grabbed my water just as the door swung open and a girl about my age walked in. I watched her as she came in. She looked more like a model then a boxer.
"Hi I'm Eleanor," she said holding her hand out for me to shake. I grabbed her hand and shook it smirking slightly.
"Meredith," I said letting go of her hand as Ty came back.
"Well it seems as though you've already met! Meredith, this is Eleanor, the girl I was telling you about earlier," he said as he got closer. I nodded and gave a smirk. I turned to Eleanor, "Let's see what you've got."
I watched her smile slightly and grab her gloves and follow me to the middle of the floor. Ty sat there watching amused as we sparred.
"Be careful Meredith! She's tougher than she looks," Ty said as I threw a punch at her. Eleanor blocked it and went for kick. It hit me but I kept going unfazed by it.
"C'mon bitch! Afraid to hit me?" Eleanor taunted. I narrowed my eyes and lunged at her.
"Not a chance," I growled, jabbing her in the stomach with my right fist. Eleanor groaned and bent over slightly before sending a punch my way setting me off guard for a second.
I acted like I was going to kick; Eleanor went to block the kick but instead, threw a punch making her fall to the ground. I straddled her and gave one more punch before getting off of her and standing up.
I looked at Ty who stood laughing. I glared at him making him stop and mid laugh. He coughed to cover it up and shuffled towards us and helping a hurt Eleanor up.
"Are you alright, El? I know how hard her punches are," he said as she stood up. Eleanor nodded and walked up to me and put her hand out.
"I think I have just met the perfect match," Eleanor said smiling slightly at me. I gave a small one back and shook her hand.
"Alright who's ready to go?" Ty said as he stepped onto the platform. I followed and got into position for the third time that day.
*Flashback Over*
Ever since then Eleanor was so persistent and wouldn't let me be; so I gave up and let her tag along places. She was a good friend and all but a little too nice then what I'm use to.
I walked out and saw who I was going against. It was a pretty big gal. She was about 6' and her muscles stood out about like mine. She had red hair and light brown eyes. She turned to look at me and smirked, narrowing her eyes at me.
I glared at her and kept walking towards Zayn. I stopped beside him and in front of the girl I was fighting. We stood there for a second and waited for the signal. Once it was given I didn't waste any time pouncing on the girl.
All I thought about was her face that night. Thinking about her terrified face riled me up. I started throwing punches faster than the girl could handle. The girl was trying to block the punches but I was only seeing red as I kept going. I heard people cheering me on but it was faded. I heard Eleanor screaming for me to stop or I would kill her.
I looked at the girl who was underneath me as I was choking her. She had fear evident in her eyes. They were pleading for me to stop. I felt someone tug me off the girl. I looked over and saw it was the boy with green eyes. I still had furry in my eyes as I looked at him. I tugged my arm away from him and turned on my heel. I walked and walked trying to cool off.
"Meredith! Wait up!" I heard Eleanor yell as I kept walking. She grabbed my arm and tugged. I looked at her mad.
"What the hell was that?" El asked angrily. I shrugged her off and kept walking, "You could've killed her!" Eleanor yelled at me. I didn't answer and kept walking.
"Meredith, stop!" Eleanor yelled. I stopped and quickly turned to look at her, she was caught off guard for a second but quickly recovered.
"I asked you a question!" she yelled. I stared at her for a second.
"Some things are best unknown," I replied before turning and walking again. I heard a sigh as she walked beside me again.
I knew Eleanor was frustrated with me but there was nothing anybody could do to change me. I was just a street fighter who everyone knew and stayed clear of. Everyone in this town was scared of me. I felt a small amount of pride at that thought. I was brought back to reality when Eleanor spoke.
"Meredith?" she asked quietly.
"Yes?" I questioned.
"Why won't you tell me what happened?" she asked grabbing my arm. I grabbed her wrist and pulled it off me.
"If I tell you then I'd have to kill you," I said smirking.
"This isn't the time for jokes Mer, what. Happened? She asked her voice rising slightly.
"I just let my anger get out of control that's it," I said annoyed. I think she sensed my annoyance and dropped it. I let out a small sigh of relief.
I couldn't tell anyone what happened. I wouldn't dare. Not after being told he had got out.
