Meredith's P.O.V
I walked into my apartment and sighed.
Why was I so worked up over that?
I shrugged it off and got some clothes so I could shower. I stripped out of my clothes and hopped into the shower, letting the hot water release the tension I had built up. I washed up and got out, drying my body and putting my hair up in my towel. I slipped on my clothes and headed into my bedroom. I heard buzz noise and picked up my phone. I flipped open the crappy, old phone.
Wanna go to the club w/ me? -El xx
I weighed my options loosely. Go with Eleanor or stay in this apartment and be in pain? Definitely go with Eleanor. Plus, we hadn't gone out since the incident- in which I punched some slut in the nose. Yeah, good times, good times. I replied to Eleanor and got into clothes a little more decent. I slid on a pair of my skinny jeans and a tank top with a half shirt over it with beads on it.
I pulled on my shoes and headed to the door after grabbing my car keys. I grabbed my black hoodie and slipped it on.
I opened the door and felt the frigid air hit me, making me shiver. I got to my car and jammed the key into the ignition. I backed out of the horribly, rocky driveway and made my way to town. My fingers drummed against the steering wheel, tightening my grip with every minute that passed. I reached over and flipped on the radio. I heard the first few beats of my favorite song- Troublemaker by Olly Murs. I mouthed the words to the song as I approached a stoplight. I reached for my phone, instantly composing A new text.
Where we meeting at? -M
The light turned green and I went a couple blocks before she replied.
Same bar as always -El
Eleanor and I used to go out partying every other week it was like. We've slowed down a lot since school resumed and we both were too busy to even pick up a glass. I drove and looked around for that same old familiar bar.
I spotted it and turned into the parking lot. I grabbed my stuff(well just my keys and wallet) and walked in.
I looked around for that familiar long, brown wavy hair. After a few moments of looking, I spotted her by the bar. I walked up quietly behind her, mentally planning my funeral as I grabbed her sides, giving them a quck squeeze. Knowing that was the spot she was most ticklish at, she jumped and squealed(well more like screamed if you ask me) and spun around.
I laughed at her expression. It had gone from surprise, to a glare within seconds. She continued to pin me with her glare as I attempted to stop laughing. It felt nice to laugh. It was something that hadn't been done in months. I felt that sense of freedom as I did.
"Are you really finding this funny?" Eleanor asked, her glare trying to intimidate me but only making me smile.
"Actually, yes I do find this funny,"I stated, smirking at her. She rolled her eyes at my snide remark and sat down in one of those high seats at the bar. I followed after, taking a seat next to her.
"Well, I'll have you know that paybacks a bitch," she said, winking at me before ordering some type of alcholic beverage.
"Yes I know, but it was totally worth it," I said back, grinning at her. She shook her head at my reply. Her drink was placed in front of her and she took a big gulp of it.
"Hey! Can I get a water for now?" I asked the bartender. He nodded and placed a cup of water in front of me. I brought the glass up to my lips and drank it. The ice-cold liquid slid down my throat, relieving any kind of dryness I'd seemed to have from lack of water. I sighed in content and went to ask Eleanor something. Right as I turned, the door to the bar opened and my eyes connected with two bright blue ones and then two mossy green colored ones moments after.
"Really El?" I hissed, now being the one to glare at her. She smiles innocently at me.
"Yes really. Now, don't be such a party pooper," she called to me before running to her boyfriend. I shook my head at her. She always had something evil up her sleeve. It was like half her brain was a tomboy and the other half a girly girl. Even though she was my friend, I could sense that bit of fear she got when I was angry.
"Hello there love," he spoke, his warm breathe hitting my neck, making It tingle ever so slightly.
"Call me Meredith, not love," I spoke harshly. He held his hands up in truce, motioning to me that he wouldn't.
"Okay, okay. No need to get feisty, " he laughed, his dimples more prominent than ever. I looked away and demanded my usual drink, knowing the guy new what I wanted. He placed it in front of me and I downed it within seconds, feeling it burn all the way down. I loved that feeling, I'm no alcoholic but the feeling after downing it always got the best of me. The drink I ordered wasn't a normal drink, it was the one that was quick to make me forget. It made me oblivious to everything around me. I felt my blood pumping fast as I turned to Harry.
"So Olive, what're you doin here?" I asked, calling him Olive due to his eye color being an olive green. He smirked and looked at me.
"Really Meredith? Olive's the best you got?" He asked, shaking his head in mock disappointment. I scoffed at him and nodded.
"Yep, now deal with it," I said downing the rest of my drink.
"I don't like that nickname though," he whined, pouting at me. I rolled my eyes at him, feeling my eyes light up when music started playing. Everyone was on the dance floor but Harry, me, and about fifteen others.
"Too bad," I said, feeling the alcohol slowly take control. I didn't know if Harry had taken anything to drink or not but just decided that he probably did. My mind was slightly clouded as I looked at him. He smiled at me, showing those dimples once more. I stared at them intently, feeling the urge to reach out and poke them. I held back the urge as Harry started tugging on my arm and pulling me towards the dance floor.
"Dance with me!" He shouted over the music, grinning at me with ease. I swallowed hard and though of my options. I could start a fight with him or dance, even though I can't. I was close to picking option one when Harry leaned down close to my ear while I spoke.
"I can't dance, Harry!" I yelled, feeling his lips touch my ear.
"It's okay Meredith, I'll teach you," he pulled back smiling at me.
"No way," I protested. I easily could have punched him in the face, but I knew Eleanor would have my ass if I did.
"C'mon Meredith! It'll be fun, I promise," he said, still tugging me. The alcohol had taken over by now, everything fading away as I let him lead me to the middle of the floor.
