Chapter Eleven – Alex's P.O.V
"I love you too Daddy." Mackenzie whispered before she fell asleep.
A smile broke onto my face as I heard her say those words. I stayed there for a few minutes just watching my little girl sleep
A few minutes later Demi came upstairs. "Is she okay? What happened?" Demi asked me worriedly as she stood in the door way.
"Bad dream." I told her as I quietly shut Mackenzie's bedroom door and followed Demi down the stairs and into the front room
"Again?" Demi asked as she sat down on the sofa and turned the television off. I nodded my head as I went to sit next to her
"I wish she would talk to me about them." I trailed off as I looked down at the floor.
Demi looked at me sympathetically. "She will Alex. Just give her time. She's probably still too scared to talk about it." Demi explained to me.
"But I want her to trust me. I want her to talk to me about anything that's bothering her." I continued as I looked at Demi
"Alex, Mackenzie does trust and love you. Have you seen the way her eyes light up every time you come into the room? Or the way she'll snuggle into you when she's in your arms? Or the look in her eyes every time you tell her you love her? She goes to you straight away as soon as you come into the room. She doesn't give me a second glance. Mackenzie will talk about what happened when she's ready to talk about it. It's not that she doesn't trust you. It's that she isn't ready to talk to anyone about it." Demi told me.
"But she talks to you." I pointed out.
Demi sighed. "She only tells me about something's and maybe that's because she knows that I have been abused so she feels more comfortable talking to me about it. But don't doubt that Mackenzie loves you or trusts you because I know she does. I can see it in her eyes."
(The Next Day – Mackenzie's P.O.V)
"Demi, Daddy wake up!" I screamed as I ran towards their bed.
Daddy automatically sat up as soon as he heard my voice. "What's wrong Mac? Did you have another nightmare? Have you hurt yourself?" He asked as he climbed out of bed. I shook my head.
"I'm hungry." I laughed as he picked me up and held me in his arms.
"You are?" He asked me. I nodded my head at him as I snuggled into him.
"Well come on then, let's get some food in that stomach of yours." Alex said as he carried me out of the room while Demi continued snoring.
Daddy carried me downstairs and carried me into the kitchen before he sat me on the side. He started cooking food. As soon as he was finished he got some plates out and put the food on the plate. He placed the food on the table before he lifted me into his arms and carried me towards the table. "Daddy?" I said
"Yes baby girl?" He asked me as he placed me on a chair and cut my food up for me.
"Do you think you and Demi will get married one day and have babies?" I asked him as he finished cutting my food up. Daddy looked at me.
"What makes you ask that?" Daddy asked me as he sat down next to him.
"Because if you have another little girl. Then I won't be your baby girl anymore." I told him before I put some food into my mouth.
"Mac. You'll always be my baby girl. No matter how old you ever are. You'll always be my baby. It doesn't matter if I have another child or not. You'll always be my little girl okay?" Dad told me.
I nodded my head as I finished my food. As soon as I finished I climbed onto his lap.
"Daddy will you sing to me?" I asked him as I snuggled into him
He kissed me on the cheek before he started singing.
Gotta hold on easy as I let you go
