"You know what helps in almost every situation?"
"What?" You asked and handed her back the mascara.
She traded it for a bar of chocolate.

"You really are Mary Poppins, huh?"
She replied with laughter.
"Eat it. All yours."
You silently did and as stupid as it may sound
- it made you feel better.

The next time you looked into the mirror, you face seemed almost normal again.
"I think we can go back to the others." You said shyly.
"You sure?"
You nodded. "Yeah. Thanks again."
Kaya opened the door and winked at you. Then you followed her back into Isabella's living room.

"Is everything alright?"
Dylan was the first to ask while your eyes were searching for Thomas'.
You were surprised that his deep brown eyes were already locked onto yours, his eyebrows wrinkled with concern.
Your heart beat faster and suddenly you were afraid that you might cry again,
but luckily Kaya's answer to Dylan's question cut off your thoughts.

"It's y/n's dog.
She got a text from her mother;
it had to go to the vet because it's very ill.
That's when she went to the bathroom, to read the rest of the message and text back.
It's alright now that she got all the information, and her dog will be alright."

Her acting was amazing.
Everyone around the table was nodding in acknowledgement, and you were so thankful for Kaya's answer so that you didn't have to make up an excuse and lie to two of your most-loved actors.
Isabella sighed and you sat down on your chair.
"You know, when I was your age, I had a guinea-pig..."
She began and your eyes found their way back at Thomas.

When you met his gaze, he didn't look away like you expected him to.
Instead, he smiled and you couldn't help but smile back.
Then you quickly looked down at your plate with a half-eaten piece of cake on it.
What the hell was that? Crap.
Were your cheeks getting red? Most likely.
Would someone notice? Hopefully not.
Was Thomas still looking at you?
Well, there certainly was only one way to find out.
Carefully, you raised your head.

Of course he wasn't.
He was smiling at his girlfriend, Isabella, who was telling a hilarious story about her guinea pig.
