Chapter 19: Path Of Us

Anchor Beach Pathway

Jude's POV:

Connor and I were walking home together along the pathway that went from my neighborhood to Anchor Beach. Then I remember something, Prom is tomorrow. I am probably going to ask Connor when we get home, but I don't know how to ask him. I then ask Connor "So do you want to study when we get home."
"Sure, I suck at algebra" Connor replays. Then out of nowhere someone came up behind me and took my backpack. I turn around and see it was Carl and Logan.
"What the hell are you doing" says Connor as he went over to Logan who was holding my backpack and pushed him over making him fall on his back. I was still on my back on the ground. Then I look at Connor who was now being pushed to the ground by Carl. Then after that, Carl and Logan threw my backpack at us and started to walk away as they said "Fags." Connor got off the ground and helped me up. Connor said "I hate them so much."
I start to brush myself off and reply "Everyone does, and I wish people will just except us."
"For some reason they won't" Connor says as we take the finally turn to our house, now we were just one block away.
"Let's just get off this topic, who did you vote for prom king and queen" I ask him.
"Daria and Carl."
Then I laugh aloud as I say "You are evil, I just voted for Taylor and that kid named Brian because she has been crushing on him for a week." As we finally approached my house I look at the garage door to see a bunch of post-it notes that spell PROM? I look over to Connor who is smiling and I ask him "Did you do this."
"Possible" he says "So what do you say?"
I smile and say "Yes."

Thursday Afternoon
Jude's House

Connor's POV:

Jude and I were sitting on his bed playing video games and I just asked him to prom, and as I hoped he said yes. As we were playing video games I asked Jude "So what do you want to wear for prom."
"We could wear tuxedoes" Jude said not taking his eyes off the game.
"We could do our fingernails blue... if you want" I say because Jude's favorite color is blue and also we haven't painted our nails in awhile.
"Sounds perfect" Jude says as he looks me in the eye and gives me a quick kiss.
"So how do you want to spend our last day of this school year tomorrow" I ask Jude as I get up about to go to the bathroom.
"We could avoid the bullies and try to have the best day ever."
As I am about to go to the bathroom I ask Jude one last question "So are your parents home."
"No" Jude says as I walk into the bathroom and close the door. As I am about take a leak I hear a knock on the door. "Hey Connor."
"Yeah" I say as my bladder starts to pour out.
"Can I come in real quick."
"I guess so." Then Jude opens the door and noticed I was peeing and he closed his eyes.
"Why did you ask me if my parents weren't home."
"No reason, but is your family home."
"No they are still at school helping with the prom in the gym for tomorrow night."
"Ok" I say as I leave the toilet and go over to the sink "By the way you can open your eyes." Jude opens his eyes, nods his head and goes out the bathroom door. As I dry off my hands and turn off the sink I go back to Jude's room and I see Jude is sitting on his bed and he turned off the video games.
"We were so close to beating the game" I asked Jude as I went over to his bed.
"I know the reason you asked me if my parents were home."
"You do."
"So do you want to."
"If you want to."
There was then a short pause and then Jude answered "Sure." I then layed on Jude's bed.
