Chapter 26: If We Were Free

Monday Morning
Grandma's Beach House

Jude's POV:

After Connor and I got changed we head to the kitchen for breakfast, and praying not to see Callie. I kind of flipped out on her because she sort of saw us in bed together, naked. As Connor and I walk into the beach house kitchen we see everyone except Brandon up and eating breakfast. "You boys want waffles" Lena asked us as we sit down at the table. Then before we knew it, breakfast was already in front of us on a plate. Connor started to dig into his waffles while I didn't want to eat right now. I was to busy thinking about Callie finding out. I just want her to mind her own business while Connor and I do what we want. Zoning back into breakfast I see Mariana sitting to the right of Callie, mama sitting to the left of Callie, mom sitting to the left of mama, Connor sitting to the left of Stef and finally grandma and I at the end of the circle.
Then Callie talked "So Jude" I look up at Callie "Do you... want to tell everyo..."
"Shut it Callie" I say because I know exactly what she is going to start talking about.
Then Lena hops in "Jude, what's wrong."
"Nothing" I say in response in anger. Then everyone at the table went silent, nobody said a word. Then I say "Can I be excused."

Connor's POV:

Jude and I just got excused from breakfast because Callie mentioned us. I walked out of the kitchen, down the hall, and to my bedroom to see Jude sitting on his bed. "Why did you leave breakfast" I ask Jude as he looked up at me.
"Why did you leave" he said in response.
"To come find you" I say "So why did you leave?"
"It is our business who knows what, I hate how Brandon and Callie keep telling us what we should and shouldn't do, I just want to leave this place." Jude then stomped out of the room and walked down the hall, to the bathroom and locked it. After that chaos, I get a text so I open my phone to see it is from Taylor.

Taylor- Y didn't u tell the police I helped
Connor- U didn't really help, you didn't throw a punch
Taylor- It was my idea to do it
Connor- Wht
Taylor- Daria asked me if I had any ideas to get back @ the 2 of u. I said we could hurt them and she said sure. We asked the three boys to help us and even Luke jumped in. There is our plan.
Connor- Atleast u told me

I shut off my phone and went back into the kitchen to finish my breakfast.

7:00pm
Monday
Grandma's Beach House

Mariana's POV:

We just finished dinner and now it is time for my horrible chore, take out the trash. First I started in my room and I picked up the trash bag and moved to Brandon's room. He had nothing in his trash can so I moved to Jude and Connor's room. The trash can was beside Jude's bed so I had to walk across the room to get to it. When I got to it I looked to see what laid inside so I peak in. To my surprise I see... I see... I see two condoms.
I then whisper to myself "Oh no."

Thirty minutes later

Jude's POV:

I was in my room packing my backpack. I grabbed my blanket, underwear, phone, and earbuds and stuff them in my backpack. I then opened the window of the second floor bedroom and jumped out onto a bush. Free.
