“We should look for her just, you know, in case she hasn’t really been taken and is hanging around somewhere completely oblivious.” Ron suggested desperately as we sat in the Gryffindor common room after our discussion with our elders. We had been sat in silence for the last few minutes, a silence that Ron seemed to find necessary to break.

Harry didn’t reply, he hadn’t spoken since we had been told that Ginny had probably also been kidnapped. I knew that he blamed himself, just like I blamed myself.

He kept muttering to himself how he shouldn’t have let her go alone, especially after George, and how he should have broken up with her, maybe then they would have let her go.

I should have been with her instead of with Drake, I should never have let her out of my sight, and I knew that she would be upset about George yet I had let her go.

Ron was blaming himself ultimately for not paying closer attention to how his sister was feeling and letting another one of his siblings be kidnapped by the Death Eaters.

Draco, Draco just felt sorrow that his parents had probably been the ones to kidnap her.

We all had pain in our hearts as we sat in the Gryffindor common room, surrounded by the happy Gryffindor’s who knew that something was wrong but knew not what it was.

“There’s no point Ron, it’s been hours and she hasn’t come back yet.” I sighed, he had been offering up this idea for the past half an hour yet none of us had moved and taken it up. Everything felt so wrong as we lay curled up together, staring into the flames that curled up from the fire place, waiting expectantly for something else bad to happen to us all.

It was only a matter of time.

“I agree with Ron.” Draco admitted, his arms pulling me further into his chest as he stared into the flames. I knew what he was thinking, but it wasn’t a good idea. He was giving him false hope; a belief that maybe there was a chance she was still out there: still exploring the grounds or talking to Hagrid.

False hope was the only thing we had at the moment.

Harry let out a shudder as his eyes flashed open and he grimaced in fear. He wrapped his arms around himself as he huddled further down into his seat.

“What’s the matter Harry?” A sing-song voice inquired from behind us. I looked around to see Luna and Neville stood, their hand intertwined as the gazed at us in confusion.

“She’s gone.” Harry choked.

“Who’s gone?”

“Ginny.”

“She’ll be fine Harry. If it’s you they want they’ll be using her as bait, they won’t want to kill her.” Luna informed us. I think she meant to make Harry feel better, but I could tell as his skin paled, everything just seemed to be worse to him. Now he knew that it was his fault that Ginny had been kidnapped by the Death Eaters, it was his fault that she had been taken.

“Thanks for trying Luna.” I murmured, as Harry shut his eyes again and rested his head back against the chair, “I think he just needs some time to think.”

“Well I’ll tell you if I hear anything, come on Neville.” She and Neville walked away whispering to each other and just before they left I heard a happy giggle come from her. At least someone could be happy when everything seemed so wrong; at least I still had Drake, I had no idea what it must be like for Harry without Ginny there to go through it all with him.
