I stood in the middle of the hall, looking lost. Where am I going? This place is to... big. I sighed and started walking down the halls. I kept getting glances from the people who walked past but I ignored them and continued walking around looking at the beautiful halls. They were really big; it felt like you where in a room that went through the whole of the palace. I was here on behalf of SHEILD to sort out an arrangement with Asgard, after the New York attacks from some guy called Thanos we figured we needed as many allies as we could get and Thor said Asgard would help, but we needed to discuss it with his Father. After more than ten minutes I reached an archway going out to some beautiful gardens. I ain't really a gardens person as I never really had time for one but when I stepped outside, the atmosphere felt calming and somewhat relaxing. The wind blew peacefully through the flowers and trees, the birds could be heard tweeting and in the distance came voices of people chatting and rushing around. I walked slowly though the garden, as if it too fragile to walk in and looked around until I came up to a stable like building. It was a small little shack but built for horses to live in. I looked around and decided to look inside and see if anyone was around.
As I walked into the stables, something came up instantly and nuzzled my hand. My eyes widened in shock as a saw it was a eight legged horse. Once the horse looked up at me, he must of realised I was shocked as he shook his head like he was trying to tell me something and looked at me with sorry eyes. I held the bridge of my nose and sighed before shaking my head. I felt something pock my right thigh and I looked down to see the horse with it's head bowed, looking at the floor but continuing to pock me. I smiled slightly and lowered my hand to the back of it's head, running my fingers though his soft mane. If a horse could tense, I think this one did at my touch but soon relaxed and lifted his head up to my stomach. I finally had a change to look properly at the horse. It had brown fur with darker spots on its back with dark green eyes and eight legs, which overall made it a beautiful horse. The horse suddenly lifted it's head and turned, tapping his nose onto a sign next to the stable it was hiding in before. I walked over and bend down to read the sign.
"Sleipnir." I murmured and the horse, or Sleipnir, shook his head in a yes. It was a strange yet unique name, and I assume it's a boys too, it sounds more male. I smiled lightly at him and decided to sit down, leaning against the wall. Sleipnir sat down next to me and rested his head across my lap, sighing loudly. I chuckled at him and started stroking his mane again, as I let my mind wonder. A shuffling noise got me out of my thoughts and I looked towards the door, hearing footsteps from outside. I sighed and tried lifting Sleipnir head off me so I could hide, but he wouldn't budge. "Sleipnir, I need to go. Someone's coming. I don't think I'm supposed to be here." Sleipnir sighed out again but still didn't move. I sighed myself and shuffled around so I was now facing Sleipnir with his head still on my lap but facing me. As I pushed his head forwards he stood a little and I thought he was letting me go, but he suddenly moved forwards and dropped his head onto my stomach, making me fall onto my back and groan, rolling my eyes. I tried pushing his head off me again but he wouldn't move and I gave up, laughing at Sleipnir's behaviour and sighing in defeat. "Ok, whatever, don't move then. I give up now." I heard a chuckle behind me and I quickly tipped my head upside down to see Loki standing in the doorway. Thor had mentioned him to us a few times and described how he looks and how he played with him when they were younger. But he didn't look exactly how I pictured. His hair was jelled back, reaching up to his shoulders and he was wearing green and gold armour, a green coat that nearly reached the floor.
"Well, I see Sleipnir has gotten to liking you." I looked at him for another few seconds then back down at Sleipnir, seeing his eyes wider than before and he jumped up, trotting over to the man and nuzzling him with his head. The man chuckled again and stroked his mane, kissing between his eyes. "Hello son."
"Son?" I said out loud, giving him a confused look. He looked up at me with a questioning one, before patting Sleipnir's head and walking over towards me, giving me a hand back up.
"Yes, Sleipnir is my son." I threw my head back and burst out laughing. His son, how can a horse be his son?! I looked back up and awkwardly stopped laughing as he was giving me a serious expression. "Really?"
"Well yes. It is... a long story. But I will not get into it. You would not understand."
"Try me." I challenged, crossing my arms over my chest and raising an eyebrow at him.
"Another time perhaps, pet." He said, waving his hand to dismiss the subject. I scrunched my noise up in disgust at the nickname he gave me.
"Don't call me pet." Loki chuckled and looked towards me, his eyes glistening with amusement. He leaned forward and looked me dead in the eyes, like he was looking for something.
"Do I not scare you? Intimidate you?" Now it was my turn to laugh at him.
"Scared? Intimidated? You may be some 'all powerful' being but I've seen worse than what you're showing, mate." I said, spitting out the last word and gesturing to him, a smirk on my face. He scoffed at me and stood back up straight before turning around and walking towards the door. He opened the stable door and stopped, looking over his shoulder to me.
"You coming or do you want to stay with the horses?" I rolled my eyes and stroked Sleipnir's head before following him out. I caught up with him as he chuckled and we walked quietly further into the gardens. "Name." I looked over to Loki who was starring down straight ahead.
"What?"
"I never got your name." He finally looked down at me, his face expressionless but his eyes showing interest and curiosity.
"Why should I tell you?"
"Because I promise to answer all questions you ask."
"Can't I just ask Thor? I'm sure he'll answer willingly." He sighed quietly and looked away.
"He will not. He will tell you certain things but not the full story, especially with me and him. Some stories are only kept between princes." I looked at him and tilted my head to the side, smirking at the last sentence.
"My prince, it's an honour to be in your presence." I bowed, holding back a laugh. But when I stood back up I couldn't hold it in anymore and burst out laughing.
"Why are you laughing?"
"I just- I- I don't know!" I continued laughing while Loki gave me a confused look but shrugged.
"You are a strange mortal." As I whipped the tears from my eyes a sharp pain went through my side, I must have pulled a muscle from laughing so much. I leaned forward abit and groaned quietly, putting my hand on my side but I felt a cold hand on top of mine. I looked up to see Loki looking down at me while mouthing something under his breath. Giving him a confused look he removed his hand and stepped back, starring at me expressionless. I stood back up and realised the pain had gone. I lifted my arm so I could see my side better then looked at Loki who was just smirking at me.
"What did you do?" I demanded.
"I did a healing spell for your wound. You should be more careful." He turned around and continued walking as if nothing happened and I hurried along to catch up with him. I reached his side and we walked in silence for a while as I looked around the gardens, running my hands through the planets or just admiring them. We got deeper into the gardens and I noticed an area of grass filled with wild flowers and left Loki's side, walking over and sitting down in the middle to rest. After a while of starring at me he finally walked over and sat down across from me, clasping his hands together and resting them in his lap.
"Why are you here in Asgard?"
"Why with so many questions?" I ran my hand through the tall grass and picked a wild flower, rolling it between my fingers admiring the colours of the petals. "Can't we just enjoy the silence?"
"But how will I know about you if you do not speak?" I kept looking at the flower and let my mind wander to my best friend Ragen. I hope he's okay and doesn't call the police for my disappearance. I did tell him I would be at my parents for the week, right?
"Who's Ragen?" I darted my gaze to Loki who was staring at me with a raised eyebrow.
"Did you just read my mind too?" I asked quiet annoyed.
"Well you would not answer my questions; so I searched your mind to find them myself."
"My thoughts are personal. Don't you dare read them again, god, you never heard 'curiosity killed the cat'."
"What?"
"Urgh." I groaned and stood up, walking away from him until I saw a fountain further down the path. It was made of some sort of white stone with a beautiful angel in the middle, holding two jugs either side of him to which poured out continuous water. I stared at the ripples in the water and how they hit the edge of the fountain, bouncing back. I heard him walk up next to me but I ignored him and continued starring at the water, I didn't want to talk to him anymore.
"Are you alright?" I nodded my head and sighed in annoyance, just wanting him to go away. Can't he tell when people want to be left alone? God, Thor needs to get this agreement sorted out so I could go back home. From the corner of my eye I saw him lift his hand to touch my shoulder, but I quickly grabbed his wrist and twisted it behind his back, kicking the back of his left knee making him fall to his knees and wrapped my right leg across his chest from his shoulder down to his opposite hip. I grabbed my knife from my boot and held it up to his throat. I heard him chuckle while lifting his free hand in surrender.
"What's so funny, Prince?" He lifted his head as best he could with my knife still at his throat and smirked at me.
"Why, I am measly enjoying the company and fun where having, mortal!" As he said mortal he twisted himself around as best he could, somehow pulling his arm behind his back out of my grip and wrapping his arms around my waist, pushing me backwards. I don't know if he remembered the fountain was behind us or not but next thing I knew we both fell into the fountain with a huge splash, my knife falling out of my hand and his left arm over my stomach with him on his front.
"What the hell dude!" I yelled and pushed him off me before standing up and twisting the water out my hair. "What the fuck was that for?!"
"I forgot the fountain was behind us." He said while pushing himself up, sitting on the side of the fountain and shrugged.
"Oh really? How smalls your brain to forget this," I said pointing at the angel. "Was behind us after only looking at it less than 20 seconds ago?!"
"I was more bothered about getting your horrid hands off me before you killed me."
"I was not going to-!"
"Loki!" I heard someone yell and we turned to see Thor standing down one the path we'd just walked. Loki rolled his eyes and stood up, shacking himself off.
"Loki! What are you, a dog?!" I yelled and pushed him back into the fountain before stepping out and rinsing my dress off. I stupidly had to wear their type of clothes while I was here, instead of my SHEILD uniform; I felt naked in this thing! I felt a warm hand on my shoulder and turned sharply, holding my hands up in fists but to only see it was Thor. I sighed and looked down, lowering my hands. I heard him give a belly chuckle and I smiled abit.
"I see you're getting along well with my brother." He said, gesturing towards Loki. I turned to see Loki scoff at him.
"Oh please Thor, don't be such an oaf."
"Come Lady (Y/L/N), our meeting starts soon." Thor said, holding his hand out to help me step out the fountain. "I suggest you change clothing before meeting with my Father."
"I figured that Thor." I smiled at him before heading back to the palace with him, leaving Loki behind. "Your brothers a strange person."
"Lady (Y/L/N), if you let me be honest. You are one of the only people he has been like this with. This is good news."
"How is it?" I scoffed, folding my arms as we reached my temporary room.
"Because he does not speak so long with people. He is usually in the library or locked up in his chambers. I hope while you stay you get more accompanied with him."
"Yeah, me too." I breathed, sighing before excusing myself to go change for our meeting.
