"Okay class, today we have a new student." The teacher called, gaining everyone's attention. "Please introduce yourself." The girl at the front didn't reply, but just looked around the class, a small smile on her face. I glanced towards her as I looked away from the window while everyone frowned and whispered to each other, not understanding why she wasn't speaking.
"Y/n," the teacher said, placing her hand on her shoulder. She looked up at her smiling before taking the chalk out of the teachers hand and walking to the board.
'Hello, my name is Y/n L/n. I'm deaf but I can read lips as well as sign.'
My hand dropped slowly from holding my head in surprise, the class gasping and whispering again, but all she did was smile and continue writing.
'I hope that we can all get along, even if you don't like me.'
That time she smiled sadly at us as the teacher pointed her to her seat in front of Makoto. I watched as she grabbed her bag and sat down, pulling what she needed out as the teacher started the class. But I glanced back out of the window, wondering why the new girl had joined our school, especially in the middle of the year.
Half way through the class, I looked back at her to see that y/n was struggling abit to understand what was being said, writing down little and frowning towards the front. So I wrote down as much as I could that the teacher was explaining for the rest of the class, for some reason I felt sorry for her, but not in a guilt way.
"Okay, the homework's due next week. So I hope you all hand it in. Dismissed." She called and everyone started packing up for lunch.
"Shall we meet the guys on the roof Haru?" I turned to see Makoto standing over me, smiling as he always does.
"Give me a minute." I took the copied version of my notes and stood up, walking over to Y/n as she was packing up. I placed the piece of paper on her desk, which grabbed her attention as she looked over them, a smile breaking on her face as she looked up at me. Her blue eyes seemed to shine in the sun, as her brown hair curled round her shoulders. But I just nodded, feeling my cheeks slightly warm as I turned and grabbed my bag, walking right past Makoto. "Let's go."
"So Haru-chan does have a soft side." He joked.
"I told you to stop with the chan." I grumbled, but continued to the roof with him by my side.
