we were misfits
you,
the one who hunted beyond
galaxiesi,
constrained to my very own
limits.we were barely five metres apart
yet, why
did it feel like lightyears?you,
basking in golden achievements,
was far beyond this world.i,
soaking in depressing thoughts,
sunk within fantasies.we were simply
eons apart.yet here we were
tortured within our walls
judged for what we were.
what were we?five metres apart,
crying the same tears
battling the same fears.
what were we?cleaned our irises white
fixed our masks tight
let's pray pretend, kay?
make us feel better, yeah?remained our
struggling selves, begging for
relief from paincrossed our fingers
wished for peace
every
fucking
day.until one
solemn day, the divine just
forced our worlds to finally
collide.aren't supernovas the prettiest?
and so, here we are
now
no longer five metres apart
nor eons nor lightyears.adjacent
we sit, laugh like
a gang of brothers.you,
who pried open my limits
taught me to
smilei,
who proved that glistening
stars don't have to be
galaxies awaywe were misfits.
A/N: I'm dedicating this to my housemate who has been a truly wonderful friend and companion to me. Thanks for helping me out of the waters all this time, bro. I really do appreciate it. :)
