dreamhouse

i built a house out of dreams
stood it stably on some beams,
cemented bricks firm with hope
washed it well with love and soap.

brought my wife of pretty smile,
let us paint it our own style,
then fell down laughing on the carpet
as we brushed our faces scarlet.

proclaimed a war of colour
and we felt it in our shudder
as splatters of blue were tossed
making the ceilings look like frost.

then dipped her hair in silver
before she showered me in glitter
and opened her mouth to laugh
to see the state of her other half.

but of course it wasn't over
as i turned her into a clover
with a determined push of green
and i ruined her pair of jeans.

but we were laughing way too loud
to even care, 'cause we were proud
for though we played like children
we saved our energy; yes, a billion.

for as messy as things were,
it only reminded me of her;
shared a kiss as we slept sound
underneath our love abound.
