The Executed

38 9 6

Whispers heavy, long, extended, stopped.

We vowed our innocence as his

Filthy, unjust fingers, gloved beneath darkened silks,

Lunged at us from which

The darkness claimed its home.

He told us, convinced us,

Brought blades upon our throats and

Drained heat from hopeful hearts and

Told us we were

Far

Too

Gone.

He wrapped webs around our tongues,

Screwed nails upon our teeth until

We could no longer speak but simply

Grunt in approval of whatever

He told us.

"You are a witch."

My eyes screamed otherwise.

Clear, azure, pure of heart and soul,

Windows unfogged by sins heavy and burning, yet

Specked by mere mischief and mayhem and

Never the devil's calls

But eternities of blue.

"You are a witch."

My story says otherwise.

I stood up In the name of

The innocent women you are so eager to

Disgrace, whose deeds laid untraced by

Your infinite wisdom and keen observation.

For men of law know better

Than those who wake with us, eat with us, sleep with us.

For men of belief know better

Than those who play with us, work with us, cry with us.

For you know better of me

Than I do myself.

"You are a witch."

My scars say otherwise.

They are the wounds earned from battle with

Unjustified men who prey on the weak who

Are not necessarily weak but

Are suppressed and depressed and dressed in a way where

She swore she was safe.

And yet, you hunted for me, lusted for me,

Bit into my skin, leaving traces upon me you now call

The devil's.

And if

You have said anything right, if ever,

That would have to be it.

For you are the devil,

Shepherding me to the fires you know

Are not to touch me, yet you still

Press on, for leaving me free

Is to let your ego deflate and

Obviously, human lives do not outweigh the mere stupidity you have

Lurking inside your brain.

Mark my words.

As fire graces my skin, sends screams rippling out of my lips,

Screams foreign yet familiar to your dirtied self,

Chars bones and cloth and the skin you once

Drooled for,

Remember this.

History will call you a criminal.

They will not claim you a hero, nor

A legend, nor a prophet gifted from the heavens.

For remember.

You are simply just a murderer

Preying on girls that you

Are afraid of.

May we rest in peace.

A/N: I was watching a movie on witches that had be emotionally invested in it and hence, this piece was written to vent out whatever feelings of justified hatred and fury I had for the antagonists of the movie. Haha. This has thankfully made me feel much better. xD
