LOL... Okay sorry... READ ON!

"Ugh..." I roll over on my back and flutter my eyes open.. Only to come face to face with a plain white ceiling. But today is very special to Jess. I'm going to surprise her with a puppy. I was thinking a boxer puppy, I seen one online the other day for a big but reasonable price.

"Jess?"

"Yes?"

"We're going somewhere soon so pick out an outfit for today."

"K!"

****

"So... Where are we going?"

"Er.... A place?"

"Okay..."

I could tell she knew I was lying. Over the week I have learnt her.

"Okay Jess, we're here. Wake up."

I tap on little Jess to wake her up, and success! It works.

"W-where are we?"

"You'll see, come on Jess."

I walked to the front door while little Jess slugged her way. Poor thing, she's pooped!

I chuckle to myself and knock on the door.

"Hello?"

"Hi! I'm here for the boxers?"

"Oh! Come right on in."

Jess was still half out of it so I hold her little hand and walk her into the house.

The house was little but very clean.

"This way."

The lady lead us down a hallway and we stopes in front of a door.

She opens the door and the room had clean boxer puppies playing, but when they saw the door open the stopped, looked, and charged toward us.

The lady made us hurry and step into the room while she put a baby gate in. I look down at Jess and see her eyes lit up like a carnival.

"So how many are girls and how many boys?" I ask.

She points them all out and tells me what gender is what.

"Go on and play with them and pick one out."

Little Jess looked very happy when I said that, she hugged me tight and went off and played with the puppies.

"So why do some have brindle colors while others are black/white and some are grey?"

"Oh, the mother was bred by three different dogs.."

"So these aren't full breed boxers?"

"Oh yes, the mother was a full boxer, but! She was breed with a boxer, pit, and lab. So some of the puppies are full boxer and some not."

I shake my head in a nod and continue to watch Jess.

"Your daughter is adorable."

"Oh... She isn't my daughter..."

"Really?"

"Yes... Her family has.... 'Left her' so to speak."

She mouths a, 'oh' to me.

****

"James!"

I look over to see Jess petting a pup.

"Yes?"

"I want this one!"

She points to a black and white puppy that looks stocky but very cute. The tip of his tail looked like it was dipped on milk while the rest was black.

"Are you sure?"

She shakes her head in a big 'yes!'

_________

Sorry I ended so abruptly.

I have terrible writers block.

Welp!

Hugs and kisses from your girl!
