Togruta Tradition

Ashoka and Rex go to a planet that means a lot to one of them. Rex meets some new people. There may or may not be an epic fight scene! And of course DA DRAMA! What else will happen? Why is this so short? Read and find out! ;D

Ashoka's POV

Ashoka sat on her bed, Thinking, About how she and Rex were engaged and to be married sooner or later. Then her mind wandered off to when she was a child, Three years old to be exact, When she was on Shili with her parents and brother. She missed them. And not a day went passed when she didn't think about them. Then she opened up a book, A photo album, And skipped around some pages. She found pictures of her parents on their wedding day. Pictures of her and her brother playing. She then started to think about her and Rex's wedding. When would it be? Where would it be? How could they get married in the middle of a war? She got stressed out thinking about ll that so she decided to go to the library. She walked into the Jedi temple library and searched for a book, Any book for that matter, To keep her mind off things. She found a book on her people, The togrutans, And she grabbed it and started reading. She found sections on the people, The animals that roam the planet and one of the most important things to the togrutan race, Traditions. She was reading through when something caught her eye, It read 'Before two are married the family members of the bride must OK the engagement. The groom must undergo tasks and bondings. if they do not the Bride will be shunned and cast away. Therefore the engagement and wedding would have no blessing of the parents.' Ashoka read that part over and over, Then she thought of her parents. And then how she and Rex were engaged. "Me and Rex are engaged. We're going to be married. Do we need the blessing from my parents?" She asked herself quietly. She raced out of the Library and ran to find Anakin. She found her master in the council room talking with the other Jedi Masters. She opened the door and walked in. "Snips? What's with the intrusion?" Anakin asked jokingly. "I need to take Rex and go to Shili." Ashoka stated. "What? Why?" Anakin asked confused. "Well, I was reading up on the history and traditions of my people and i found that if the daughter of a family does not get blessing over the engagement then they can't be married, And the daughter will be shunned and cast away!" Ashoka said worriedly. Ashoka loved her family, Even though she wasn't supposed to think about them, Or even see them again! "Well, I don't know snips. You know it's against the code." Anakin said. "Think about it, Let us" Yoda said. Ashoka waited outside the council room for half an hour. She got worried and impatient. Then the doors opened indicating she could enter again. "Alright snips, We thought over it from every point and.....You may go." Said Anakin. "Really?!" Ashoka asked beaming with joy. "Go you must. Take the captain with you." Said Yoda. Ashoka hugged Anakin and ran out the door to find Rex. "I still think she's too young..." Anakin said turning to face the rest of them. "You will have to let go sooner or later Anakin" Obi-wan said putting a hand on his shoulder. "I know but, She's just so young and naive." Anakin replied looking back at Ashoka who was running. Ashoka ran to the Barracks and found Rex in the Gym training his men. "Rex! REX!!!!" Ashoka shouted as she ran to him. Re turned to see her still running, She smacked right into him, They both fell and crashed. "Rex!!" Ashoka shouted excitedly again as she jumped back up, Ignoring the stares from the other men. Rex still on the floor just looked up confused. "What's up Littl'un?" He asked rubbing his head getting up. "We're going to Shili!" Ashoka said dancing around slightly. "Um, Why?" He asked still totally confused, And probably dizzy. "Because i was reading a book about my people and since we're engaged you have to meet my family and we need to get their blessing!" Ashoka said now out of breath. "Uh....Okay? When do we leave?" Rex asked. "I don't know...Now?!" Ashoka replied beaming. She ran out of the Gym to pack their bags leaving Rex standing totally confused in the Gym. Then the sniggers and giggles from his men began. "Oh shut it!" Rex yelled at them. Rex went to shower then went to find Ashoka. He found her in their room packing clothes and a few other necessities. "So Shili? I haven't been their for a while." Rex said as he walked over to Ashoka. "Yup! Are you as excited as i am!?" Ashoka asked, "Yeah but...What happens if we don't get your parents blessing?" Rex asked slightly scared of what she would say. "We're not allowed to get married and i get shunned and cast away!" Ashoka said still in a good mood obviously not worried because she thinks Rex can do it. "What!? Aren't you worried i'll fail!?" Rex asked louder then he should have. "You can do it! My brother did it with ease!" She said shrugging. After about half an hour they waved goodbye to their loved ones and headed to Shili. They we're on a small ship much like the twilight. "I have butterfly's i'm so excited and nervous, I think i might throw up!" Ashoka said still smiling. Rex just looked at her slightly amazed slightly disgusted. "I don't think i'll ever understand you..." Rex said laughing. "How long has it been? Since you've seen them?" Rex asked looking over at her. "Well, I'm 17....I left when i was 3 so about 14 years i think." Ashoka replied, "Whoa. Are you sure they'll remember you?" Rex asked again, "Rex look at this head dress. There are several of my family's beads on it. They will see them and know. And my face marking are unique like all Togrutas are." Ashoka stated. "Oh, And we will be there for Four days too! Because that's how long all the stuff takes. Well it's three days but i thik you should learn more about my people. And you need to kill an akul and get a tooth!" Ashoka said excitedly. Rex just smirked and looked out the windows. He was nervous, Ashoka should be too but she doesn't have the pressure on her that Rex has. They arrived on Shili about two hours later, They went through hyperspace. Ashoka landed the ship about two clicks from her old village. They grabbed their bags and started the walk. Rex looked around at all the amazing things, The trees, The wildlife, But most of all, The flowers. Their were flowers of every colors. Blue, Orange, White, Purple, You name it! Ashoka could see her village and started running until they had just entered. Rex took a deep breath and walked beside Ashoka. He looked around and saw togrutas doing field work and garden work. They stopped and stared at the two strangers walking. Rex felt uneasy and nervous. He was going to be the one to throw up! Ashoka was bubbly, Happy and excited. The people crowded around as they saw them. then two older Togrutans, Male and female approached them, And a younger looking Togrutan male. "Ashoka?" The younger male said confused. "Derrin!" Ashoka said hugging him. "Mom, Dad!" She said as she hugged them as well. "Why are you here? I've missed you so much!" The mother said. "I'm glad your here but i thought you weren't  allowed to return?" The father said as he hugged her again. Then he looked over and saw an awkward looking man. "Who is this?" He asked. "This is Rex. My fiance!" Ashoka said smiling. Rex awkward smiled and waved slightly. "Your engaged!?" Her mother, Father and Brother said in unison. "Yep!" Ashoka chirped, "How long?" The mother asked, "A few months now, I was ready and then read all the stuff about our tradition and figured now was the best time to come and do this" Ashoka replied. "I'm so happy for you!" Ashoka mother said hugging her again. "Rex this is my mother, Alina. My father, Haraak. And my brother Derrin" Ashoka said introducing them. Rex waved again, Awkwardly. "Hello..." He said, "Ashoka, he's so handsome! When did you meet?" Her mother asked. "It's a long story!" Ashoka replied. "I am sure your hungry, Lets go eat!" Her father announced.
