Weeks later
"Amber did you see Hope's blanket anywhere? She grows restless without it." Hayley called from downstairs and Amber looked around the room to find it was on a chair.

Amber made her way downstairs to where Hayley was and handed her the blanket. Hope was giggling away in her arms and Amber realized it was one of her favorite sounds. Niklaus was soon by Amber's side and kissed her forehead before taking Hope from Hayley's arms.

"For the first time I feel like everything will work out for us." Amber said it quietly but of course everyone heard. Hayley grinned and gave her a squeeze from the side.

"Yeah and even if it's not we'll give whoever bothers us hell." Rebekah and Elijah had heard the three talking and joined them in the living room. She took Hope from Klaus's arms and he pouted. Hope giggled at his expression and he couldn't help but smile.

"For the first time in a long time our family is fully united and happy." Elijah smiled but it didn't meet his eyes. Amber knew he wanted more, specifically Hayley. She hoped in time the two would find their way to each other or find peace at being just friends.

Rebekah however was overly happy and Amber knew why. Recently her and Marcel were on more than good terms. Amber was happy for the two even if Niklaus didn't approve. He would come around though, she would make sure of it.

Truthfully he had always known she used his love to her advantage but he didn't care to stop her. It was her own version of compulsion that only worked on one original and he knew she did it with only good intentions. He especially enjoyed when she would do anything to persuade him, he remember the first time she did it.

Flashback~
Amber was talking to Elijah about something Nik had done that had caused controversy. Apparently the local police found several dead particularly dry bodies. Nik had gotten too hungry it seemed and ever since he told Amber the truth he wanted to be better, but it wasn't easy for him.

As he came into the room he looked at Elijah and Amber quizzically and Elijah gave him a lame excuse for having to leave. "What is going on?"

"Oh nothing Elijah was telling me of the recent city gossip." Amber met his eyes to make sure he knew she wasn't lying.

"Elijah gossiping?" Niklaus didn't believe her for a second.

"More news than gossip." Amber knew Klaus could tell if she was lying so she stuck to the truth even if it was slightly omitted some of the truth. "Anyways, how was your day my love?" An answer she knew but he didn't care as she pulled him close and his arms went around her waist.

"Right now, it is the best it could be." He kissed under her jaw and she slightly melted into him. Amber couldn't help the small sigh that left her mouth and that was enough to drive him crazy. His nose and lips pressed against her neck as he kissed from the base of her throat, upwards. Amber pulled him closer as he did so.

When he finally met her lips Niklaus couldn't help but feel it was the best thing he had ever experienced. Nothing could compete with the joy he felt due to having her in his arms. After a couple minutes Amber broke away.

"Nik you know I love you dearly." Her hand rested on his cheek and the other playing with his hair at the nape of his neck.

"Why do I feel there is a but coming along?" He smiled sweetly at her as he took the hand resting on his cheek and kissed it.

"It troubles me to see you hurt others. Especially since I know you're better than that." Niklaus didn't think he was better than that, but if that's what she wanted to believe he would make it come true. In her eyes he only saw hope and love. Two things that he would do anything to see in her eyes all the time. In that moment Niklaus knew as long as she was happy he would never have a worry in the world. She wanted him to be better and he would be, for her.
Flashback ended~

Niklaus took her hand then and no one noticed as the two slipped away for a couple minutes. He led her into the hallway away from everyone. Amber looked at him with a raised eyebrow and he only replied by leaning her onto the wall and meeting her lips with his. After she quickly retaliated with equal passion he broke away.

"Would you join me for dinner tonight?" Amber adored his spontaneity and she grinned at him.

"It would be my pleasure." She was still leaned against the wall and she listened to see if anyone had noticed they had sneaked away. Luckily for the two no one had, so she looped her hands around his neck and pulled him in for another kiss.

"You look beautiful as always, love." (Outfit shown) Amber had been inspecting herself in the mirror when Niklaus spoke from the door. She turned around to shoot him a grin and then moved to take his hand. Nik didn't tell her where he was taking her but he knew she loved the thrill of not knowing.

They soon arrived at the destination, Amber realized it was the spot they had picnicked at once a long time ago. She grinned at the set up. A candle lit dinner had been set up and she gasped and turned to look at Niklaus, he only wore a proud expression.

"Nik this is perfect." She sat down and brought him down as well. Amber picked up the bottle of champagne with confusion clear on her face.

"That's for later." He whispered before planting a small kiss on her lips. Amber didn't question him as leaned across her to open the picnic basket. She also didn't know why that was there since the dinner was already in front of her.

"Close your eyes."

"Nik you've done so much already-" Amber didn't want him to go out of his way even more. She loved him for doing so much but she didn't what him to feel he had to do so much.

"Amber please." After looking him once over she obliged. He took her hand and pulled her up. She yelped when he picked her up, bridal style. He seemed to be carrying her somewhere. Niklaus put her down lightly and she stood on her own feet. If she had not been a vampire Amber might have wobbled but thankfully she found her center of gravity quickly.

"Open your eyes." Amber first saw a large array of sparkling lights. They were on a patio in a garden surrounded by flowers and greenery. The entire scene was beautiful. What was directly in front of her was more of a sight.

Niklaus was down on one knee holding a ring. The ring didn't matter one bit. It could have been made of string and Amber would have still cried. So she cried before he even said anything. He looked amused but also slightly worried that he might not be able to get through this too smoothly.

"Amber you are the only true love of my life ever since you have come back I have felt more at peace than ever before. Marriage is only a more official title for the eternal love we share. Will you marry me Amber?"

"Yes, yes! I would say yes in every language if I could!" She kneeled down and cried into his shoulder as he enveloped her. Niklaus couldn't help but chuckle at her reaction and kissed her head.

Once she calmed down he leaned back and put the ring on her finger. (Shown) It was definitely expensive and had a small fleur de lis engraved into the side. Amber loved it and she expressed this as she gave Niklaus small kisses on his lips and all over his face. While saying, "I. Love. You. Niklaus. Mikaelson." He chuckled at her and pulled her up.

There wasn't music playing but the two slow-danced the night away as well as finally popping open the champagne. Amber and Niklaus had never felt happier in their life and it seemed every day after that day shared that notion.
