nice cream [alphyne]

"the sunset is always so beautiful. the colors remind me of everything positive in life, and the darkness after always calms me down." i heard her say as she stared off into the horizon. it was almost completely dark, but the last bit of sunshine that shined down on her made her face look even cuter.

"you're fucking adorable." i blurted out.

i knew it was a mistake after i said it, i didn't mean to sound so blunt! i mean, she really did look adorable but i wanted to put it differently-

"y-you.. you think i'm adorable?" she asked, looking over her shoulder at me. i sat up from my laid down position in the sand and wrapped my arms around my knees. "i didn't want it to sound that way that it did, but... yeah. you're adorable, alphys." i said. she blushed deeply, muttering a small 'thank you', before staring deeply in my eyes.

i hated being stared at, i would always start to think the weirdest possible things and worry over the slightest thing. "what are you doing?" i asked.

"i'm stargazing." she answered. i laid back on the sand, without blinking a single time. "i can die peacefully now." i said, making her chuckle. "undyne! you can't die yet!" i heard her whine playfully, and i laughed. i got up, dusting myself off and reaching down for her to grab my hand. "c'mon, i'm buying you some nice-cream." i said.

as she took my hand, she started protesting. "w-what? u-undyne, it's okay, i-i can pay for myself! y-you don't have to - " i chuckled softly as she rambled on, and kissed her cheek. "i took you on this date, i'm buying you nice-cream. c'mon, before the guy closes up!" i said and lifted her. "want a piggy-back ride?" i asked, winking. she nodded. "always."

as we made our way down the path with the last rays of sunshine falling down on us, i felt at ease. i never felt as comfortable with anyone as with her, and i don't know how she managed to, but she made me forget the world for a while when i was with her. she was my world.

i paid for the nice-cream and got two popsicles, handing alphys one. "here you go." i said. she thanked me quietly and we went to sit down on a bench, watching the remainder of the sunset, stars closing us in.

i opened my popsicle, reading the inside of the wrapper. i smiled, "hey, alphy?" i asked. "hmm?" "you gotta read my wrapper, and never. ever. forget that. okay?" i said, handing her the wrapper with the logo and design up, the message down. "uh... okay?" she asked and reluctantly took the wrapper from my hands.

her eyes darted down to read what was on, and then i saw her smile. and blush. and i couldn't help but notice the tears forming in her eyes, but those were gone in a blink. i ran my hand through her hair and kissed her forehead.
