"Where are we going?" Letty asked me for the billionth time since we left the airport, I rolled my eyes "be patient."

I knew she wouldn't recognise where we were going, it had been so long since we made it out here, too many raw memories.

In response she slammed back into her seat in annoyance and stared moodily out the window, she's never been good waiting.

I swung the car around the bend and I heard Letty's breath get caught in her throat as I stopped the car, her first ever car, a 1971 Hemi Cuda, the exact one that we renovated over her senior year summer, sat in front of our small home.

We both got out the car and stood by the Hemi, "how did you..." she whispered as I wrapped my arms around her torso, "a lot of long nights after you were asleep," I said "is this the exact one?" She asked and I nodded, "found it at the old garage in Baracoa, pretty much the only thing that didn't get seized."

I finished fitting a new cam belt on the Charger when a removal truck pulled in across from the garage, a man, women and a girl around 16 got out the car that pulled up behind. The guy made his way over the road, removing his sunglasses in the process. Shutting the bonnet, I wiped my hands on the dirty rag. "Can I help?" I called over as he walked over to the garage.

"No, I just wanted to introduce my family, we're moving back into the neighbourhood."

"I can see." I said dryly, glancing at the removal men.

"Yeah," he trailed off "well, I'm Micheal Ortiz, and that's my wife is Elena and my daughter Leticia."

I nodded, shaking his hand "nice to meet you." I paused as the name rang a bell "you knew my father."

"I did, Mia and Leticia used to be inseparable when they were younger." He paused "I am sorry about your father. He was a good man."

I nodded, somebody yelled from behind him. Micheal flashed a smile before rushing back over to his own home, and his wife and daughter. Perfect family unit.

Tossing the rag I was wringing in my fists on the car, I headed back into the shop, see what chaos Dimples had got herself into.

"Dom!" I heard Mia yell from the desk, followed by a crashing sound, and a quiet 'oops'.

"Jesus fucking christ Mia, what?" I retorted as I stepped out the office, seeing the complete chaos of what was an entire rack of organised nuts and bolts now lying on the floor.

"I'm trying to study for my chemistry exam." She hissed "can you just take her."

"What, like I'm just sitting around?" I plucked Sophia from the carnage she had caused "what do you expect me to do with her?"

"Right now, I don't actually care."

Growling, I took Soph into the office with me, plonking her on the office chair for the other desk.

"Don't move." I ordered her, flopping back into my own chair and turning back to the books, which were looking no healthier than when I started, I pinched the bridge of my nose, in the space of a year we had gone from a healthy two-parent working family to a high school sophomore and senior looking after their six year old sister and who can barely keep shit together.
