Chapter 16

A  S O N  O F  A...  I ' M  S O  S O R R Y.

A man in fatigue camo was waiting for our arrival by the front entrance. "Toretto, Toretto, Parker, Peirce?" He asked and we nodded, he stepped out the way and let us come in.

"I'm Master Chief Petty Officer Londono." He introduced. "I'm taking you up to the room."

"SEAL?" I asked and he nodded. "Reds. We are just suiting up. we're leaving at 21:00 hours."

There were only four SEALS in the room, but they seemed to do the work of twenty people, we were pushed towards a large metal table in the centre, which a young woman was working on a house layout.

"Over there is Senior Chief Petty Officer Rodriguez and Chief Petty Officer Jensen." He gestured to the two people setting up a computer bank in the corner, "and that's Petty Officer First Class Hobbs."

"Like in Hobbs, related to the Hulk Hobbs?" Roman questioned, getting a nod from the young woman "my name is Taliatela'i, and he's my dad." She informed us.

Taliatela'i gestured to a case full of an array of guns, "help yourself." She added, "we're just doing some recon before we set off. Tej, I'm sure you'll be happy with the software."

"This is off the chart." Tej muttered, settling himself in front of the many screens and pulling up different camera feeds.

We had worked with a lot less in the past, and still managed to pull off some of the biggest jobs in the world.

I picked up a shotgun, I didn't like the weight in my hands, too many bad memories come attached to weapons. I remembered Jessie. I remembered Vince. I remembered everyone we lost on the way. I couldn't let Sophia be one of those people.

Letty reached over and squeezed my hands before kneeling down in front of me. "You don't need to worry about this." She told me "she's going to come home tonight."

I nodded.

"Okay everyone, I want to go through this one last time." Taliatela'i explained, her voice loud. "We're going to approach the house from both the front door and the back exit." She gestured towards the Master Chief Petty Officer, "Londono and I will be heading inside with Dominic. Whilst Rodriguez covers the back with Roman and Jensen, with Letty, will cover the front."

"What about Tej." I asked.

"Tej will be watching everything here, making sure nobody gets away. We're not exactly operating on grid with this one, so anything goes sideways... well, just make sure nothing goes sideways."

I realised how much these people were putting at stake. They were risking freedom for somebody they hadn't even met.

We all piled into my car, leaving Tej's McLaren Spider at the hotel, Roman fell asleep about twenty minutes into the two hour journey, and Letty not far after, I settled in for a long drive.

A couple hours in Tej suddenly spoke in my ear "I was just thinking, if Brian was awake he would have loved this- not the part where Sophia was hurt by those assho-"

I cut him off "yeah, I know, he would of loved the bullets."

Tej chuckled on the other end, "that's pretty fucked up though."
