"Adrien?Adrien,bro?Dude?You okay?"Nino asked snapping his fingers in front of his dazed friend's face.
"What?"Adrien asked
"You spaced out"Nino said
"Oh,sorry about that"Adrien apologized
"So,tell me!Why are you ignoring Marinette?Did she do anything bad to you?"Nino asked
"Oh...um...she didn't do anything bad.I just don't feel well"Adrien said
"Dude,you haven't been feeling well for 5 months already?Wow,your Marinette allergy is strong"Nino rolled his eyes sarcastically
"Look,I just don't want to talk about it now..."he trailed off
"Well,when can you talk about it?Adrien,I'm your best bud,you can tell me anything!"Nino exclaimed
"I just can't"Adrien said turning around
Nino scrunched up his face and frowned at his friend.
"Adrien!We are worried if something is wrong!Marinette doesn't even know why you're not talking to her!She has gone on a minor sad depression phase!She doesn't talk to us much and she only stays in her room and in class she talks less and she looks like she hadn't had any sleep!She says that she doesn't like you ignoring her!She thinks you hate her!Tell me what is wrong!"Nino exclaimed
Adrien flinched at his tone but then relaxed.
"It isn't about her.I just don't want to talk about it"
"Fine!When you want to talk,don't expect me to be there!I'll see you in Alya's house tomorrow.It's her birthday"Nino said grabbing his bag and turning to the door
"Oh,and Marinette is going to be there"
He went out of the room and tugged on his cap as he looked down and began to exit the house after waving at Natalie,who bowed and smiled.She treated Nino like a nephew and throughout the years,Nino became entirely welcome in the Agreste Mansion as long as he didn't bother Gabriel.
"Happy Birthday,Alya!"Exclaimed Marinette as she walked in the front door of her friend's house.
"I'm busy so I couldn't join.But,I'll be giving you a present"She smiled handing a box to Alya.
"Is this about Adrien?"Alya asks
"I...I...yes.Please do me a favor and tell them I couldn't make it."Marinette pleaded
"Sure"Alya smiled
"Open it!"Marinette exclaimed gesturing to the wrapped present
Alya ripped the wrapping paper to find a scrapbook made by Marinette and Alya when they were 10.
"You kept this all these years?"Alya asks
"Yes"Marinette smiles
"Thank You"She hugs her
"I have to go now"Marinette pulls away and runs home.
"Phew"She sighs as she slides down the door.
"Hey guys!"Alya greeted as Adrien and Nino came in the room
"Where is Marinette?Did she forget your birthday?"Nino asked
"No!She couldn't make it.She was sick.She gave me a present though"Alya lied
"Ok"Nino said
"Well,it's a good thing that she didn't forget it"Adrien told her
"Yeah!Let's watch the movie!"
They watched movies as Alya and Nino are internally concerning over the banana and the blueberry.Hey,that would make great toppings for like a yogurt.
Marinette sat on her bed,clutching her cracked soul necklace.Adrien was her soulmate,and now he hates her.What did she do wrong?
She glanced at her clock,5pm.Glancing at her phone,she got an idea.
