Chapter 66: One Happy Family

After the matsuri, they rest at their house.

"Ha, today was fun!" Maria said happily whilst laid down at her bed.

"It sure is." Kiku agreed. Luka giggles.

"You should not forget that the fireworks are scheduled tomorrow!" Luka reminded. Kuro made a hand motion as if he was lazy.

"Yeah, yeah, sure." He said. Maria laughed.

"Baka! Stop acting lazy, nīsan!" Maria teases. Kuro's eye twitches in annoyance. Takadatsu pats Kuro's head.

"Otosan..yamete.." Kuro pleaded while sulking.

"He will not stop until you are not acting lazy, Kuro-nī." Kiku said between giggles. Luka and Maria prepares green tea and serves it.

"Nīsan!~ It's your favorite drink~" Maria called out to Kuro like a cheerful anime girl. Kuro brightens up and gets the tea and sips it. Takadatsu stops. Under the sipping of tea, Kuro smiled.

"Nīsan." Kiku calls out to Kuro. He turns.

"Nani?" He asked.

"I wanted to tell you something, regarding the heichou." Kiku said. Kuro was shocked.

"Okay. Oshiete yo, ototō." Kuro said.

"Heichou Nasada told me that General Hirama, his girlfriend, was severely injured in battle. She needs to take a break for two years and needs a replacement."

"I'm assuming that Colonel Shuzuya is injured as well?"

Kiku nods.

"Hai. Colonel needs a replacement, as well." Kuro thinks.

"Think Kuro, think. They need replacements and figure out who will be their replacements." Kuro thought to himself.

"Tell Lieutenant Akihiko that me and imotō will be their replacements. We will be taking their positions three days after the hanabi show." Kuro demanded calmly. Kiku smiles and bows.

"I'll do that right away, General-Nīsan." Kiku said.
Maria was listening the whole time and was shocked.

"Me, as a replacement to Colonel Shizuya?!" Maria thought. Her hands make a fist.

"I have no choice but to accept it."
