These tears, these fears
There's nothing to gain
Everything I have
Is just full of pain.
I love, I pray,
I try to care
I do, that too,
I smile and share.
This feeling, this weeping,
Is beyond words
Hugging so tightly
To my heart chords.
This hole, this pit,
this desire to slit
This darkness, this lonliness
Eats me bit by bit.
I smile, I try
I put up a fight
I die, I cry
I stay upright.
You say you care
You say you understand
You say you'll be there
To hold my hand
I appreciate the concern
I appreciate the gesture
But you will never know
So just don't pretend.
I will get out
I just need time
To figure out the meaning of life
That's all mine.
A light, a string, a ray of hope,
A push, a faith, a burning desire,
That guides me to rise up
Higher and higher.
