SECTION V: CHARACTERIZATION

Are your characters flawed and relatable? Does their behavior stay consistent throughout your story? If your character is coming-of-age, is it a believable transformation of personality growth?

Is it easy for the reader to point out the protagonist, the antagonist, the sidekick, the mentor, and the love interest (you don't necessarily need all of these roles in a story)?

Are there some unnecessary characters that add nothing to the plot?

If your character has low self-esteem about her body image in the beginning of your story, and by the end, she's more confident than ever, is it believable? Does some kind of realistic challenge take place in the plot that would show her progress towards loving her body?

How do you make your characters compelling, realistic, unique?
