Note- when I put someone's name before a new section of text that is symbolizing the person who is now being narrated. This is not that persons POV as this is not going to be told in a "I, me, myself" style. If there is no name before the text that means it is still being narrated normally.

You were relieved to see the first genuine smile after your interview. Matsuda seems to be the only person you've meet so far that didn't have some mysterious vibe around him. You knew what he said to you had no secret meanings, and you appreciated the break your brain and nerves got because of this.
"I can show you to your room now" matsuda said with a sweet tone. You smiled back at the man as he grabbed your bag and lead you down a hall. To your surprise the suit only had two bedrooms. Would this mean you only share the space with one other person? You weren't sure what you expected, because honestly you weren't given much information on the living situation. You had no idea if every single detective on the case lived in the building with you.
"Matsuda?" you asked grabbing his attention.
"Yes?" He wondered as he put your bad down on your bed. The bed and the room were both really large, larger than you expected. You had ceiling to floor Windows across the wall parallel to your bed, and your own private on suite bathroom.
You say yourself on your new bad and looked up at the shy man "Who else lives here with me?"
Matsuda looked at you confused for a moment "they really didn't tell you much did they?" He asked. You shook your head in response "well, it'll only be you and L I assume. Unless he handcuffs light again" this caused you to raise your eyebrow in confusion.
"O-oh, are they together or something?" You asked confused on why he would add the 'handcuff' part. This seemed like an unnecessary detail to share with you if he meant what you thought he did.
Matsuda quickly realized his mistake "no! Oh no no no!!" He quickly back tracked "nothing like that! He only did it to prove light was trustworthy" Matsuda explained. You still looked at him confused. Not sure how handcuffing someone could lead you to trust them.
'Unless there seriously was something up with light' you thought you yourself. You didn't share this suspicion with matsuda though.
"Well, thank you so much for helping me out!" You smiled standing up from the bed and wrapping your arms around the taller man, thanking him with a hug. His face turned completely red with a blush.
"No problem!" He assured you nervously, but still returning your hug.
After matsuda left you sat yourself down again on the bed. You reached for your bag and pulled out your laptop. You had some very specific research to begin in a certain someone.

LIGHT

Light and L sat at their desks continuing on with the investigation. On L's lap sat a plate of cake and strawberries, which seemed to be only a small distraction from his research. Light, however, couldn't focus on his screen much less the investigation. He turned himself in his chair so he could face L.
"What did you think of her?" Light asked, though he was already sure of the answer. L shrugged half paying attention as his eyes still stayed glued to his screen. Light sighed causing the detective you finally look at him.
"What did you think of her?" L asked boring his eyes into Lights. Light stared back without hesitation.
"I like her. She seems smart" light stated "let's hope she's as smart as she led me to believe" he added with a smirk.
L nodded as he moved his gaze back to his computer "she is, I assure you"
Light continued to face him, not ready to end the conversation there "are you sure she can be trusted?" He asked cautiously "you had to chain me up to you in order for me to gain your trust"
"Are you suggesting a chain a 17 year old girl to myself?" L asked strangely calm.
"You didn't seem to have a problem chaining a 17 year old boy to yourself" light reminded him. L took a moment to respond. He turned himself to face light once more. "You are correct" he said simply " that being said I don't think those measures are necessary for this case"
Light shook his head slightly "I wouldn't like to keep an eye on her, you may not be concerned but I am. Anyone could be Kira"
"What would you suggest I do?" L inquired curiously
"You don't have to do anything" light informed him "just let me keep on eye on her, I can do it all myself"
L was the one to shake his head this time "there is no need for that" he turned back to his computer one final time "get back to work"
Light didn't let his irritation show as he turned around. He wasn't going to let go that easily. You had peeked his interest, now light had to do what his gut told him to do.
